📸 Get to Know Your Photographer ~

For those who are new here, I’m CB! I’ve been running my photography business since 2023, but I’ve had a camera in my hand as far back as circa 6th grade. I turn 41 next month. ✨

Get to know me!

1. Why did you become a photographer? I was in-between work transitions & needed extra income then it winded up becoming such a healing art for me.

2. What was your very first camera? A disposable.

3. What is your favorite type of session to photograph? Ah. Every time I leave a session I always go…”this was my favorite”

4. What inspires your photography style? Natural movement & emotion.

5. How would you describe your editing style? My editing style is eclectic. I first & foremost want to deliver my client’s needs and wishes. If they give me full creative freedom…I will edit based on how the picture feels.

6. Do you prefer sunrise or sunset sessions? Both!

7. What is your dream location to photograph? Somewhere that’s giving Wuthering Heights 😂

8. What is one thing you wish every client knew before their session? Just have fun.

9. How do you help people feel comfortable in front of the camera? Encouragement. I’ll be your #1 hype girl!!

10. What is your favorite thing to photograph besides people? Flowers

11. Coffee, tea, or something else? a Petey’s Bing

12. What are other things you’re passionate about outside of photography? Helping others heal, travel, the healing arts, building community, making memories with my family.

13. How has yoga influenced your photography? Cueing

14. How has Reiki influenced your photography? Light

15. What do you do when you’re feeling creatively stuck? Watch a movie based on the cinematography.

16. What is one book that has impacted your life? The Alchemist.

17. What is something people are surprised to learn about you? I recently self-published my first book. I’m also a military veteran - 4 years in USAF.

18. What is one lesson photography has taught you about life? How important it is to be a kind of space for others to feel safe enough to let go & find comfort in their own skin. I try to be that for my clients. I try to bring this energy in to my other work & in my personal life too.

~ Week 21 & 22 of 52 | Water + From Above

This week’s photography challenge combined two themes from week 21 & 22 …Water & From Above.

We’ve had this peach tree for several years. Got it as a baby sapling. This year, it looks like a picking might actually happen.

Notice the connection between the rain & the fruit. The blessings that come from above sometimes it’s a slow process…season after season. A waiting game. And then one day…you’re out in your yard just minding your business and you happen to notice what’s finally beginning to bloom around you.

This little peach tree is reminding me that some of life’s sweetest little gifts from above aren’t instantaneous…but teaches us how to wait, trust, & just keep showing up.

Also, something about a dirty hand. Give me a dirt covered hand and a hopeful heart. So grounding.

~”Love knows no distance.”

It was absolutely beautiful watching this fairytale love story unfold yesterday and getting the honor to capture it.

I don’t know how many times I teared it behind the camera. Getting to hear their story, witnessing the blending of two cultures, and feeling the weight of a love that transcends every barrier.

A reminder that love knows no distance, no boundaries, and no bounds. Can’t wait to share more!
