Please take notice of these warnings. Many of these animals seem docile, but every year people are killed in our parks because they do not treat them as wild animals. Elk can grow to over 700 pounds, with a rack like this, you can imagine the damage it can do if not treated with respect.

Its been quite a while since I have spent some time with a camera in my hand. A quick trip to Cataloochee was just what the doctor ordered this morning!

Spent yesterday hiking in the foggy . Temp was in mid 40s which is perfect for a good stroll in my eyes. These mountains never get old. Every trip brings something new.

I'm Back!!! How many ridges do you see?

Sorry for the long hiatus. It's been difficult to get out recently and frankly, it's hard to be inspired during these trying times. Add a move to a new house during the middle of a pandemic and life has been a bit challenging.
But just one night out in the Blue Ridge Mountains and all is well with the world. It is amazing to me how photogenic this vast playland is. It just never disappoints!

The comet Neowise traveling over the top of an old barn in Illinois. Don't miss this sight! You can see it in the Northern Hemisphere just before dawn or just after sunset in the Northwest sky just below the big dipper. It will be 6800 years before this 3 mile diameter frozen mass passes earth again.

Just after the rainbow disappeared, this fantastic sky took on more color. Finding a good foreground is a struggle for me at times in the Midwest, but old farms are timeless.
