About four months ago, I had a woman reach out to me about  engagement sessions she was getting married soon and wanted to have an engagement photo . She knew exactly what she wanted. What kind of pictures and style she was looking for and she asked me to do the session the session is scheduled for tomorrow in Charleston. The couple is coming in from Ohio to have me take their photos. Nervous is an understatement.

A few months ago, I was contacted about a family photo session that was being gifted to a very special mom for Mother’s Day. Life happened, schedules changed, and we had to reschedule more than once—but we finally made it happen.
What I witnessed that day was something beautiful. The love this mother has for her children and grandchildren is bigger than life itself. The laughter, the hugs, the little moments in between—it was all a reminder of what truly matters.
I am incredibly honored that this family chose me to freeze these moments in time for them. These are the memories that will be cherished for generations, and being trusted to capture them is a privilege I never take for granted. ❤️

Maybe I’m old school, but I miss when photography was mostly about chasing good light, finding beautiful locations, and capturing genuine moments.

These days it feels like everything has to be “fixed.” Skies replaced. Bodies reshaped. Backgrounds changed. AI creating things that were never even there.

Don’t get me wrong—I edit my photos. Every photographer does. Editing has always been part of photography. But somewhere along the way, it feels like we’ve started valuing perfection more than authenticity.

The smile doesn’t have to be perfect.
The sunset doesn’t have to be dramatic.
The child doesn’t have to sit still.
The moment just has to be real.

At the end of the day, I want my clients to look back at their photos and remember how it felt—not wonder how much AI was involved.

Give me real laughter, real connection, real memories, and a little imperfect beauty any day. ❤️
