One day, these photographs will mean so much more than they do right now.

You’ll look back and remember how tiny their hands were. The way they slept on your chest. The way your older baby carefully held their new sibling.

That’s why I believe newborn photography should be about more than creating beautiful images. It should tell the story of your family.

My style of newborn photography is natural, documentary-inspired photographs that are meant to be printed, displayed, held, and passed down... not forgotten in a camera roll.

Because right now, in the hazy fog of newborn life, you might not look at these images all the time. But one day, when your little one is a toddler, or starting kindergarten, or driving down the street with their brand new license...that's when you're going to sit down with your album of newborn photos and be so thankful they're not stuck on your hard drive.

Your phone is probably full of memories you never look at anymore. The birthday from three years ago. Your baby’s first steps. The blurry photo of your toddler laughing so hard they could barely stand. The everyday moments that felt ordinary at the time but mean everything now.

We tell ourselves we’ll print them someday. But someday has a way of becoming years.

As a Charleston family photographer and heirloom photographer, I believe your family photographs deserve more than a place in your camera roll. They deserve to live where your family can actually see them. On your walls. In albums. On your shelves. In the hands of your children.

There is something different about holding a photograph instead of scrolling past it. A printed photograph asks you to slow down. It becomes part of your home and part of your family's story. And when your children grow up seeing photographs of themselves throughout your home, they are reminded of something incredibly important:

You belong here. You are loved. You are part of this story.

Your phone will eventually be replaced. Technology will change. Hard drives with your favorite images will fail. But the photographs you print become something your family can hold onto for generations. Your memories were never meant to live only on a screen. 🤍

One minute they’re tiny, and the next you’re looking at old photos wondering how they ever got so big. That’s exactly why I love offering these fall minis once a year! It's a chance to pause long enough to document the season you’re actually living in.

And yes, they’re quick. 15 minutes. But that doesn’t mean rushed. We’ll make space for the cuddles, the giggles, the running around, the little personalities, and all the in-between moments.
