Having been a bride myself, I can honestly and unbiasedly say that my photos were the most important (vendor-related) part of my wedding day. Because although my wedding day is over, my beautiful photographs hang on my wall to remind me of what a special day it was! It brings me so much joy to photograph people, especially on their wedding day! I love to know my couples. Like, really know them. I

want to walk in on your wedding day and give you a big giddy hug, and let's be honest, I'll probably squeal just as loud as your bridesmaids when I see you in your dress for the first time. That's why I love meeting couples beforehand, whether for a coffee/wine date or for an engagement session. Photography is more than just images to me, it's about the relationship. When I really know you, I can take photos that really feel like you. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you deserve a great photographic experience. I'm passionate about wedding photography not just for arts sake, but because I want to provide each and every one of my couples with images they will cherish for the rest of their lives. I still get nervous butterflies before each wedding, and I've always told myself that the first time those butterflies don't show up before a wedding day, that's when I'll know to call it quits. Some moments in life happen once and never the exact same way again. 🤍

Photographing Will & Alyssa’s proposal was a reminder of just how beautiful those moments can be. The anticipation, the nerves, the excitement, and then the instant everything changed with one “yes.” There’s something so special about preserving not only what a proposal looked like, but what it felt like.

There are very few moments in life that happen only once.

A proposal is one of them.

It’s the start of something entirely new…the moment your relationship shifts from what has been into everything that’s about to come. As a Charleston proposal photographer, I often tell clients that while the proposal itself may last only a minute or two, the photographs become something you’ll return to for the rest of your lives.

I loved walking through all of the proposal details with Ben. He knew that he wanted a natural backdrop, and thought the marsh might be nice. I showed him this location, and he was sold right away. Together, we made a plan for where I would be hiding out, where he would take Megan, and the exact spot for him to drop down on one knee and ask her to marry him.

As we were wrapping up the session, Ben told me, “I was stressing out SO much about this proposal. But as soon as I found you, everything was smooth sailing from that point on.” ❤️

I love extended family sessions because there’s something so beautiful about a whole family gathered together. All ages, all seasons of life. Stories being shared, laughter abounding, memories being made. It’s real, it’s chaotic, and it’s beautiful. The little hands holding tight, grandparents stealing a quiet smile, cousins bursting into giggles. These are the moments that make your family’s story feel alive, today and generations from now.

I love being able to preserve these memories into tangible, heirloom products my families can take home. Wall art for grandparents to walk past every day, albums for parents to cuddle up on the couch with their littles and flip through. A black and white portrait and a veil with pearls gets me every time ❤️

I’ve been scheduling some bridal portraits for future brides, and I always love dreaming through these sessions with them. Bridal sessions give us time to be unhurried in the dress. Time to get excited about the upcoming wedding. A chance to wear your dress more than once 💃🏼 A chance to beautifully and intentionally document this once in a lifetime experience.
