Happy Fathers Day and Summer Solstice! Today marks the longest day of the year and the days will progressively get shorter and shorter until December.
This may be the longest day of the year, but it will never take as long as it took your dad to help you with that math homework.

As the winter solstice occurs and we begin our path to more light each day and the first light of the waxing crescent moon begins to show (pictured below.) I think this is more appropriate than new years, a man made timeline, to start this new journey.
Going into 2026 let the combination of our new days growing along with the phase of the moon growing to start building yourself along the timeline of our cosmos. Let all of us challenge ourselves to grow with the days by learning new things, taking on new tasks, becoming someone more than you never thought you could.

Happy Solstice everyone! Today is one of my favorite times of the year and that’s because it is the shortest day, longest night. We are now on our way to longer days and warmer weather. So if you are into that, awesome. Personally I enjoy the dark and colder temps 😅

Good morning, everyone!
A light break in the bitter temperatures before it gets really cold again. Over the winter season if you look up you will see the famous Orion constellation. Within that is the Orion Nebula.
This is yet another photo, one of my personal favorites, that I visited again to bring out the colors and make the brightness not so overbearing.

Hey all! This overcast is wicked, huh?
One of the things about astrophotography is how long in between sessions it can take for more photos. You can spend hours getting one photo then wait for such a long time working around weather, work, or just time off.
Until that time arrives for more fun and new stuff, I have started really looking at some of my stuff and decided I can make it a bit better for you all. I'm going through some photos I have and working more on them to bring out more of the image into something more I can be proud of.
My first one to share here is a favorite of everyone, the Sunsinger photo from Allerton Park and Retreat Center with our lovely home galaxy shining in the background.

Stay safe during this holiday season. Be kind to one another. Sometimes the best gifts are ones we can create with others in mind.
