05-31-2018 Flasher, North Dakota : such a memorable day for storm chasing. The evening had a striated, sunset lit supercell, and transitioned to a mothership shaped prolific lightning producer. Often times for me, chasing tornadoes is only part of the interest, and except on rare occasions, usually not the main show. It’s the unique storm dynamics and behavior that keeps me excited to chase.

05-31-2018 Flasher, North Dakota : A scene from one of the most prolific lightning displays I’ve ever seen. Multiple repeating bolts with multiple arcs and branches. I’m mesmerized by the “squiggles” in the middle of this particular bolt. What ai wouldn’t give to have been just over this hill seeing the strike point.

08-06-2018 York, Nebraska - A tornado warned supercell gusts out during blue hour lighting up the storm in textured deep blues.

06-22-2026 Cope, Colorado : A powerful tornado warned supercell fully matures across the high plains of eastern Colorado. So far, this is the greatest storm structure of the year for me, and we were able to track it for nearly 8 hours.

06-17-2026 : Charleston, IL - The road leading to a veiled monster. Do you see it? The Charleston, IL EF-2 hides in the shadows wrapping in rain. We took this road as the circulation completely wrapped hiding the ongoing multi-vortex tornado. From just North of the circulation we could feel and see the winds funneling towards the center, but it offered no further view inside.

02/09/2017 : The most pronounced lenticular cloud display I’ve ever seen. Mushrooming over the front range of Colorado with so many spinning stacks. It’s a truly incredible scene to witness and one I hope to timelapse again.

I love this shot. As powerful as tornadoes are, in the scale of a thunderstorm they’re such a small part of it.

Our ground view of the Tulliby Lake, AB tornado today. Gotta say it was worth the 18 hour drive!
