My mom's birthday is on Halloween. She also LOVED the movie Halloween starring Jamie Lee Curtis. In 2012 JLC made an appearance in Indianapolis for Horrorhound. I wanted to go so badly but couldn't afford tickets or to see her. An friend of mine at the time had an extra VIP photo op pass for the show and gave it to me like the day before her appearance. I was so blown away I cried while desperately searching for something for JLC to sign for my mom (who was in a nursing home at the time). I found an old worn copy of the movie, packed up the kids and drove to Indy. We had a lot of fun that day. They got matching Adventure Time hats and some little toys. Jamie's sister was running around filming this documentary and shot a few seconds of the kids being silly. Unfortunately, we ate too many sweets and snacks and Ian got really sick and threw up in the convention. I felt terrible. Poor little guy was so pale. I gave the pass I received to another friend to take since there was no way I was going to make my sick kid stand hours in line for an autograph. I took the kiddos to the bathroom to clean up Ian and who happened to pop out of a stall just as I was about to wipe Ian's face...Jamie Lee Curtis. She instantly went into "momma bear" mode and got a paper towel, wet it and handed it to me to put on his forehead. She quickly ran back off to her table but it was just the sweetest moment. Better than any autograph or photo op. Just a mom seeing another mom (even with how busy and tired she had to have been) and took a moment to help. That was in November of 2012 (my birthday I think or maybe the day before). About a month later my mom passed away. She never got to see the documentary. It is on the Halloween 35th Anniversary Blu-ray and on YouTube. At about the 27 minute mark the kids pop up for like 8 seconds. I just think its a neat tie between my mom and my kids. ❤️
