The crew was in town from South Carolina for a couple of days, and we made it happen. 🤎

Now, was our little Ohio beach quite the same as the one they have in their backyard? Absolutely not. 😂 But we worked with what we had!

It’s always so good having family in town, but getting asked to photograph these sweet babes in this season of life was just the icing on the cake.

Out of all the things they could have squeezed into their short trip home, the fact that they asked me to photograph their family means more than they probably know. 🤎

WHEW — the back-to-school + fall photography rush is officially here. 😅

Things are filling up quickly and my inbox has been hopping — which I am SO incredibly grateful for!

Tomorrow she starts her senior year. 🤎

I can’t help but think about her parents tonight and how proud they both have to be of her.

High school has held so much for this girl — first days, bowling seasons, going to state, creating beautiful art, growing up, finding her way, and becoming more and more herself.

Terri has had a front row seat to all of it.

Brian hasn’t gotten that same gift.

And there’s really no way to make that part easier.

We stopped at Brian's gravesite during her senior session because he is still apart of every chapter of her story — including this one.

Not in a way that takes away from the excitement of senior year.

Just in a way that says, “Look Dad I made it!” ☺️
(You know he was beaming in heaven over that visit!)

Terri… I don’t know that I’ll ever fully have the words for what it has taken to get your kids where they are today while carrying the loss of the person you were supposed to be doing all of this with.
But I do know this:
Look at her.
Look at the young woman you two raised. 😍

Tomorrow, your baby girl starts senior year.
And I know, on both sides of heaven, her parents are so incredibly proud of her. 🤎
