🏗️ Ovation Orlando Update | The Former Orlando Sun Resort

Another recognizable piece of the old Orlando Sun Resort is now gone.

The entrance monument that remained after the buildings were demolished has been removed, leaving even fewer traces of the resort that once stood here.

For this update, I also brought the drone down lower to give you a much better perspective of something that’s difficult to appreciate from the higher aerial views:

The sheer size of the debris piles.

From several hundred feet up, they don’t look particularly impressive. Get closer, and you begin to understand just how much material remains to be cleared from this massive property.

The pace of the transformation has definitely slowed since the major demolition work, but progress continues.

And we’re reaching an interesting point in this series.

For months, we’ve been watching the Orlando Sun Resort disappear.

Now we’re waiting to watch Ovation Orlando begin to emerge.

I’ll continue documenting the property from the air as the remaining debris is cleared and this site moves into the next stage of its redevelopment.

Three programs. One field. A whole lot of flag football. 🏈🔥

CF Strike Flag Football joined forces with Jungle Girls Flag Football and Mayhem Flag Football at West Orange High School for a joint practice — bringing athletes together to compete, learn, and push each other to get better.

Different teams. Same goal.

This is what growing the girls’ flag football community looks like: more reps, more competition, new connections, and athletes helping raise the level of the game across Central Florida.

🏘️ Celebration Island Village Construction Update | 05/25/2026

Another week, another major step forward for Celebration Island Village.

The community continues to take shape as more homes are completed, roads connect, landscaping expands, and the area around the clubhouse becomes increasingly recognizable.

One of the most noticeable changes is how much easier it is now to visualize what the finished neighborhood will look like. What was once dirt, construction equipment, and foundations is steadily becoming a vibrant new community.

From the air, it’s fascinating to see the progress from week to week. Every update tells a different story, and this one may be the clearest look yet at the future of Island Village.

Big changes are happening near Disney Springs. 🚧

The Crossroads area continues to transform, and one of the biggest developments appears to be major transportation and traffic improvements surrounding the property.

From the air, it looks like work is underway on a new Interstate 4 interchange and roadway infrastructure designed to improve traffic flow throughout the Disney Springs and Hotel Plaza Boulevard area.

This project is changing more than just the former shopping and dining area—it’s reshaping how people move through one of the busiest tourism corridors in Central Florida.

Watching the scale of this redevelopment from above has been fascinating because every update reveals something new.

More construction updates coming soon as the Crossroads area continues to evolve.

A lot of people see the final drone video…

But not always what goes into creating it. 🚁

Between scouting the site, checking airspace, planning shots, filming multiple passes, reviewing footage, recording commentary, and editing everything together—there’s a lot happening behind the scenes before a construction update ever gets posted.

That’s one of the things I enjoy most about documenting projects like Orlando Sun Resort and Celebration Island Village. Every update becomes part of a larger visual timeline showing how quickly these properties are evolving.
