7.17.21

Honoring Austin & Maddie following their dream-like special day becoming the new Mr. and Mrs. Thoms!

Complete with a firework show to cap off the night, the day was filled with laughter and endless joy and a mighty fun crew (especially on the dance floor)!

Sadly, I near the end of my wedding season so soon with my upcoming relocation, but days like these remind me how grateful I am to continue serving clients and spending such a special moment in time alongside my couples.

Congratulations, Austin & Maddie! ✨

i’m seeing the word ‘normal’ get tossed around frequently from online comments to daily conversation, usually introduced by ‘new _____’ or ‘when will we get back to _____?’

it seems unlikely that we will ever truly RETURN to what life we had, our past and times of confusion and struggle shape and guide our future. a new normal? for now that consists of wearing a mask (PLEASE wear a mask!) and going through life with a heightened sense of compassion and care for humanity.

nick & caitlyn’s 7.11.20 wedding was not ‘normal’, not how they planned, not how the initial vision was presented, though it WAS simply B E A U T I F U L. i was constantly in awe of the creative efforts put in place to ensure they 1) could still get married and begin their lives together, and 2) safely make the day special and memorable for those close to them.

being able to celebrate with them showed me what is important, and what we need to be happy. fellowship, family, friends, and the all-compassing idea of love. there was no shortage of overflowing love and excitement for nick & caitlyn.

sending my best,
isaac 💛

Taking a moment today to share all of the beautiful class of 2020 high school seniors (now graduates!) that I was able to work with throughout last summer and fall. 🎓

One thing I've been hearing a lot these past few months surrounds the new generation (YOU ALL) being the ones who will carry our country and world through these unique times. YOUR innovation, skills, creativity, fresh perspective, and diligence.

I am always so impressed by my seniors, hearing about their lives and what they hope to do in an effort to make a positive change in the world fills my cup!

Thank you to your communities, those who have showed up and adapted to a new environment, finding creative ways to honor all of your current and future success.

I wish you all the absolute best! Continue looking forward, dwell little on the past, and I will leave you with this ~

"Success is for those who best understand that the future is subject to change."

~ We have and will consistently see this come to fruition throughout our lives. Find out what that means for you. Reach for the stars. 🌌

today, many of my ambitious friends top off the past few years of educational vigor with a new version of graduation. some will have mini ceremonies thrown by their families, and some will enjoy the day as any other. 🎓

it was refreshing to see so many moms, sisters, friends, etc. with their iphones out, snapping pics of their respective graduates. normally, a few seniors choose to get photos taken to commemorate their time at university, but when there are minimal options to do so, you take advantage of the carefully manicured grounds.

CONGRATULATIONS to the university of northern iowa graduating class of 2020! you’ve been equipped to go out into a world ready for your skills and talent, though quickly thrown into one that’s struggling to move forward. it’ll take the creative, the intelligent, the persistent to keep us looking onward.

photo: my beautiful friend jess: an entrepreneur, mentor, bubbly spirited human who i have no doubt will make positive changes in this world. dream big, then think bigger. 💛

p.s. did anyone else make friends with the older crowds in high school and college?

hi friends! sharing some thoughts on creativity, expression, and staying SANE. 🌌

i’ve always been intrigued and involved in music - always listening to an array of genres and participating myself through band, choir, and piano over the years. when creating or in need of finding that creative space, we all have different ways to find and understand inspiration.

for me, music is my light source; the beacon that illuminates the direction to follow. the way it makes me feel, its capability to completely change my mood and cause my thoughts to wander.

as a kid, my imagination ran WILD. i often would ‘play pretend’ in the woods behind my house, whether alone or with friends, forming scenarios beyond our realistic world. it was FUN, and simply what we did! i have numerous unfinished old scripts and books floating around on old hard drives, each serving as a memory for a time and place where my thoughts needed to be expressed.

finding a medium to share and materialism your imagination and creativity continues to be important to me. us creatives may be slightly wired differently than others, but my efforts to retain and offer respect to my ideas provides personal organization and satisfaction.

choosing to stay safe and remain quarantined doesn’t provide a lot of inspiration initially when looking at the same walls everyday; it does pose a challenge, one to look beyond the common everyday sights you see and explore what is beyond, channeling your imaginative nature once again.

i only WISH i had the natural talent of a song writer and vocal musical artist. a gifted poet who can formulate words to tune, and the ability to share that with the word. i do have the ‘wannabe’ dream of becoming a broadway star, basking in the spotlight each night and singing my heart out. maybe in another life. 🤷🏻‍♂️

share with me how YOU express yourself creatively. 🌈

sharing memories and visuals from our STELLAR utah roadtrip from last summer! take a few moments to virtually tour the red rock of southern utah. 🌌

i share all of the national parks we visited, some tips when visiting such, and my general amazement and awe of the natural world around us. i hope to get out and explore more again soon, as we all are.

let's make a point to better treat and appreciate our surrounding environment once we emerge back into the world. 💛

Y’all - I HAVE LIVED. I cannot recall a past travel experience as eye-opening as our road trip to Utah last summer. The things I have seen , the stories I can share! When talking to my grandparents, mentors, specifically elders, I always admire their abilities to tell stories and truly describe t

needing y'alls recommendations today!

i'm looking for a hair/makeup artist for a client shoot on march 20th and 21st, taking place in mason city, ia. the client would like to do a test-run before shooting as well to finalize looks and vision.

brief description: my client is opening up her own business, and we're conducting a two-day photoshoot for website, social media and branding material content. the first day (the 20th) will be a formal, one concept look shot off-site. and the second day (the 21st) will be a longer day with many looks. the client would prefer to hire someone that could stick around through the second day, and adjust and tweaks hair/makeup between looks for diversity.

hair/makeup needs are nothing drastic, simply to enhance client's natural beauty and provide a professional photo-ready look(s)!

please email me at [email protected] if you are interested and would like more information.

the weather this past weekend was SUCH a tease of spring! who else got overjoyed to be outside in a light jacket and - shorts perhaps? :) i definitely took the opportunity to enjoy the warm afternoons, being able to run outdoors sure felt amazing. as the days get longer and the snow begins to melt, i’m beginning to long for the glowy summer evenings, many of which i get to spend with two loving souls.

for now, i’ll zip up my coat and brace for the rest of this odd end-of-winter-pre-spring mess. was anyone else super productive or sun bathe this weekend?

as we drove down sunset boulevard, my sister pointed out how quickly places come and go in the city. in a mere block, we had noted numerous locations we had been to on my last trip out there that were either turned into something new or currently available for rent.

emma and i took some pictures at one of these little shops, a small, selective health food shop with a cute little outdoor garden in the heart of echo pack. like so much else, it’s now gone.

it’s a fast-moving world, part of the struggle is just keeping up with everyone and everything else. i won’t go much deeper than that, let’s leave it light for today.

friendly reminder that time is so valuable. there’s very little of it, relatively. admire the world around you, view it with a new perspective each day, remaining observant and curious. don’t miss anything about the mundane, it might be gone before you know it. ✨
