I know I’m a little late posting, but some moments are worth celebrating no matter when they’re shared.

This past Saturday, Keegan graduated from Richlands High School, and I wanted to take a moment to congratulate her on all she has accomplished throughout her high school years. Having photographed Keegan many times over the years, it has been such a joy to watch her grow into the remarkable young woman she is today.

One of the things I admire most about Keegan is her creativity. She is an incredibly talented artist whose work reflects not only her skill, but also her heart. Her passion, dedication, and unique perspective have made her an inspiration to so many of her peers, and I have no doubt those gifts will continue to open doors for her in the years ahead.

As a photographer, one of the greatest privileges of this job is getting a front-row seat to life's milestones. Watching children grow, dreams take shape, and futures begin is something I never take for granted. Seeing Keegan reach this chapter feels especially meaningful.

Keegan, I am so proud of you. Thank you for allowing me to document pieces of your journey. I cannot wait to see where life takes you next and all the beautiful things you create along the way.

Congratulations, graduate. The future is bright. 🤍🎓

It’s wild how time works in this job — it doesn’t just move forward, it grows up right in front of you.

I first met Allisyn and Pete back during their engagement session, when Miles was still just a baby on their hip. We connected instantly, and what started as clients quickly turned into something that feels more like friendship. Allisyn and I still talk just about every week, and getting to walk alongside their story has been such a gift.

Now Miles is almost four — full of life, energy, and the kind of joy that doesn’t sit still for long. He’s deep in his little boy era: loving The Lorax, proudly wearing his froggy backpack, and exploring the world like every inch of it is meant to be discovered by him. 🐸 💦

For his milestone session, we headed to the river… and it turned into the best kind of adventure. We threw rocks, dipped tiny toes into the water, chased laughter downstream, and even splashed near a small waterfall while he soaked it all in with that fearless curiosity only kids have.

And a huge thank you to my husband for being our behind-the-scenes muscle — carrying gear, helping wrangle chaos, and making sure I can stay focused on the moments that matter. I couldn’t do it without you, hubby.

Miles, you are pure magic at four. Watching you grow has been one of the sweetest parts of this journey.✨

Some sessions feel less like work and more like stepping quietly into a chapter of someone’s story that you know will be treasured forever. Walking into Sam and Eden’s home to meet sweet Indy-Beth felt exactly like that. Years ago, I photographed Eden’s brother’s wedding, and one of my favorite things about this job is watching life continue to unfold long after a gallery is delivered.

Their home was beautiful, but the nursery… every little girl’s dream. Soft, warm, and filled with the kind of love you could feel before you even walked through the door.

And Sam… he was made to be a girl dad. The way he looked at Indy-Beth, the way he held her with such gentleness and care, the tenderness he carried toward Eden too — those are the moments I find myself noticing the most. The quiet ones. The ones that say everything without needing words.

Sweet Indy-Beth gave us the dream newborn session. She slept, ate, slept some more, and at the very end gave us those wide, curious eyes as if she wanted to take in the world for herself.

The sweetest thing of all is knowing this little girl has entered a life already overflowing with love. Surrounded and carried by so many people who have waited for her, prayed for her, and already adore her.

Welcome to the world, Indy-Beth. You are already so deeply loved. 🤍

I still remember meeting Stacie and Trevor for the very first time, then getting the honor of photographing their engagement and later, one of the most beautiful days of their lives — their wedding day. Since then, we’ve shared so many seasons together, and now somehow, here we are with two precious babies, Connor and Lainey, running around in front of my camera.

One thing I’ve always loved about these two is how deeply they value family. Every session isn’t just about updated photos — it’s about preserving generations, relationships, laughter, and the people who helped shape their story. Watching grandparents love on babies, siblings tease one another, and everyone gather together in the mountains of Appalachia always reminds me why extended family sessions matter so much.

These aren’t just photographs someday. They’re proof of where you came from, who stood beside you, and how love continues to grow through the years.

So thankful this family has trusted me through so many chapters of life. Watching your story unfold has truly been one of the greatest gifts of this job. 🤎

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who carry whole worlds in their arms.

To the mamas rocking babies on front porches in the mountains, wiping tears with one hand and making supper with the other. To the women raising kind souls in a world that can feel hard and hurried. To the grandmas, stepmamas, bonus mamas, grieving mothers, waiting mothers, and the women who mother simply by the way they love.

As a photographer, I get the honor of freezing little pieces of your lives — the way tiny hands reach for you without thinking, the tired eyes that still soften at the sound of “momma,” the laughter echoing through fields at sunset here in Appalachia. And every single time, I’m reminded that motherhood isn’t found in perfection. It’s found in sacrifice, gentleness, strength, and the everyday moments that often go unseen.

One day, the photos your children hold closest won’t be the perfect ones. They’ll be the ones where you were simply there — loving them with your whole heart.

So today, I hope you feel celebrated for all the quiet, beautiful ways you hold your families together. The mountains have always been built on strong women… and I reckon they always will be. 🤍

One year of Everly Fern 🤍

Some sessions are more than sessions—and this one will always feel that way to me. Everly is the daughter of one of my dearest friends, Tenielle, so from the very beginning this milestone already carried something extra tender.

When Tenielle texted me her vision for a DIY book wall, I knew immediately this was going to be something special. And she brought it to life so beautifully—thrifting children’s books, curating every detail, building a backdrop that felt like pure nostalgia and magic all at once. The addition of ferns made it even more meaningful, a nod to Everly’s middle name and a quiet tribute to Tenielle’s grandmother woven right into the heart of it.

It didn’t just meet the vision—it was the vision. The kind of set that feels like it was always meant for this little girl.

And Everly? She showed up like she owned it. Smiling the entire time, completely delighted by it all, and absolutely committed to that cupcake—face first, as it should be at one. It was joy in its purest, messiest, sweetest form.

Photographing her felt like watching love be built in real time—between a mother’s hands, a family’s memories, and a little girl who is already so deeply adored.

Happy birthday, Everly Fern. You are so loved 🤍

Two years of Harper 🤍

I first met this sweet girl at her first birthday session, and getting to watch her grow since then—through family sessions and little in-between moments—has been such a gift. What started as clients has turned into something more, and I truly adore Shaina and her family.

This session felt so them in every way. Harper’s love for fruit inspired the sweetest little setup—a “cake” made entirely of fresh fruit, which she fully approved of. She spent the evening by the river, watching ducks, eating watermelon with one hand and tossing rocks with the other… completely in her element.

And the details—so much heart woven into every piece. Her cozy sweater, lovingly made by her Aunt Allisyn. The quilt and milk glass vase, passed down from her late grandmother, adding a quiet, meaningful presence to it all. The kind of touches that make a session feel like memories being honored in real time.

Happy 2nd birthday, Harper. You are so deeply loved 🤍

Prom 2026 🤍

This year felt extra special. Getting to photograph prom at The Wayfarer Appalachia—a place I fell in love with while capturing a wedding there last November—was truly full circle. The glow of the string lights, the atmosphere, the quiet magic in every corner… it created the most perfect backdrop for a night like this. I’m so incredibly thankful to the owners for trusting me and allowing me to photograph my clients here. It meant more than I can say.

But what made it unforgettable… was you.

Every single one of you showed up absolutely stunning. The dresses, the suits, the details—but more than that, the smiles, the excitement, the way you carried yourselves with so much joy and confidence. That’s always my favorite part of prom—getting to witness you all step into this moment, dressed up and glowing, celebrating a season you’ll never get back.

From behind my lens, it felt like more than photos. It felt like a love note to this chapter of your lives. To the laughter, the friendships, the anticipation of what’s next, and the bittersweet beauty of it all—especially for my seniors.

I’m so grateful you trust me with these moments. Truly.

You were all breathtaking. 🤍

Prom, but make it a little bittersweet.

Jenson has been in front of my camera more times than I can count, and somehow he still manages to keep every single session fresh. His quick wit, the way he keeps me laughing, the ease he brings—it never gets old. But this one hit different. Senior year. One of those “lasts” you don’t quite feel ready for.

And then there’s Mckinlee… effortlessly, model-level stunning. The kind of presence that doesn’t need direction—she just is. Together, they brought the perfect balance of fun and elegance, and it made this Honaker High prom session one I won’t forget.

Photographing milestones like this is always special, but when it’s someone you’ve watched grow over the years, it carries a little more weight. A little more meaning.

Here’s to the last prom, the memories made, and everything waiting just on the other side of this season. 🤍

Some stories just feel meant to be—and this one has been eight years in the making.

From right after high school to this moment, Chace and Haley have grown up side by side, building something steady, real, and lasting. So when the news of their engagement came, it felt like everyone who knows them (or even just knows of them) collectively said, “finally.” The kind of finally that’s been patiently waiting, quietly certain all along.

Chace will always hold a special place in my heart—not just because I’ve had the honor of photographing his family over the years, but because of the kind of people they are. And Haley… she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Being around her feels easy, familiar—we share so many of the same loves, and it makes celebrating her even sweeter.

Photographing these two felt less like work and more like witnessing something long-awaited fall perfectly into place. There’s a comfort between them, a deep-rooted love that only comes from years of choosing each other over and over again.

Some love stories are fast. Some are loud. And some… are steady, sure, and worth the wait.

This one is finally. 🤍
