Late-night neon in Downtown Castle Rock. 🌙🚦

Took a piece of 1974 history out for a spin last night—the vintage Mamiya-Sekor 50mm f/1.2 on my Sony a6700.

There is just something about the way old lens coatings handle night-time light that modern glass can’t touch.

I shot these at the historic Castle Cafe - I was actually looking from the inside of the window out onto the street, capturing all that gorgeous background bokeh texture through the glass.

Chasing the fading light from the new Crystal Valley Bridge, and the evening did not disappoint. 🌆✨

Sometimes the best captures are a mix of patience and a little unexpected magic:

📸 1: Locked in a slow shutter speed facing Pikes Peak to capture the evening energy. I love how the highway light trails carve perfectly through the twilight.
📸 2: A classic perspective of The Rock standing guard over parts of downtown. It never gets old.
📸 3: A pure, happy accident. I was moving the camera to reposition for a shot into downtown, and the motion blur created this incredible, abstract, almost painted vibe. Sometimes trusting your artistic instincts—and leaning into serendipity—creates the most striking images.

This SD card has been missing since January 2025—I thought these shots were long gone until I had to toss a broken sofa and found this tucked deep inside.

Captured this right before Bombshells opened in downtown Denver. I love the chaos of the reflections—construction still happening inside, workers looking out, and the city passing by in the glass. Some things are worth the wait. 🎞️🏙️

Caught these F-16s tearing up the sky at the Cleveland Air Show on Sept. 1, 2025, and the energy was unreal. 🤯

The speed, the noise, the impossibly tight formations—it’s a totally different kind of adrenaline than sitting quietly in the woods waiting for an eagle! The a7 IV locked on and kept up with every single maneuver. 📸🦾
