Enjoyed creating this image for Rick Sluder & Lynne Crady Sluder to go into their beautiful home!!!

There’s something magical about bringing imagination to life through photography and digital art. 🏴‍☠️🔥🧜‍♀️

For this creative project with Rick & Lynne, we started with an incredible pirate-inspired portrait session on the beach surrounded by driftwood, wind, and coastal textures that already felt straight out of a forgotten Caribbean story. From there, we transformed the vision into a cinematic fantasy scene — building an entire pirate camp on a tropical island complete with treasure chests, lanterns, a glowing fire, and an anchored ship resting in the bay at sunset.

Then came the twist… Lynne was transformed into a mermaid emerging from the shoreline beside Rick, blending fantasy, romance, and adventure into one epic storytelling image. The warm sunset tones, flickering firelight, and rich pirate textures created the perfect atmosphere for a timeless tale of love, adventure, and the sea.

I love projects like this because they remind me photography doesn’t have to stop at reality — it can become pure storytelling.

Who else would love a cinematic fantasy portrait session like this? ⚓🌅

Tonight, beneath candlelight and the weight of crimson robes, we gathered to mourn the passing of Mediocre Photos.

No longer shall we bow before flat lighting, uninspired posing, or lifeless storytelling.
The age of safe and forgettable imagery has come to an end.

Photography was never meant to simply document.
It was meant to haunt, to inspire, to stir emotion, and to leave behind something timeless.

May this be the funeral of ordinary work…
and the rebirth of cinematic vision, artistic courage, and images that actually make people feel something.

Rest in peace, Mediocre Photos.
You will not be missed.

“Not all treasure is buried… some of it becomes art.” 🏴‍☠️✨

For this custom project, we transformed Rick & Lynne into legendary pirates stranded on a forgotten island at sunset — complete with treasure chests, a pirate camp, and their ship waiting offshore.

But the adventure didn’t stop there…
We took the final cinematic portrait and designed a full custom wrap for their stand-up arcade console so every game night feels like stepping into their own pirate story. 🎮⚓️

This is what we love most about creating fine-art portraits:
Taking imagination, storytelling, photography, and design… and turning them into something people can actually live with and experience every day.

From concept sketches to the final arcade overlay, this project was pure creative adventure. ☠️🔥

Would you turn yourself into a pirate captain for your own custom art piece?

There’s something raw about shooting outside the studio… no safety net, no perfect control—just instinct, composition, and connection.

Working with Aiden at Texas School of Professional Photography was exactly that.

We found this space, framed by lines and tension, and let the environment do what it does best—add story. The way he settled into the pose, the grit in his expression, the structure surrounding him… it all came together into something honest. Unpolished in the best way.

This wasn’t about perfection.
It was about presence.

About finding those moments where the subject and the scene collide and create something real.

Texas School keeps pushing me to step out, trust the process, and see beyond the obvious.

Because sometimes the best images aren’t built…
they’re found.

Some images aren’t planned… they’re discovered in the challenge.

During Kelly & Kalina Schneider’s class at Texas School, Kalina pushed us into a creative exercise—step outside the obvious, trust the process, and build something from imagination, not expectation.

And Libby… she became the vision.

Layer by layer, piece by piece, this image came to life—textures, symbolism, emotion—all woven together into something that feels almost otherworldly. Not just a portrait, but a story suspended in time.

There’s something powerful about watching someone you love step fully into the art… to trust, to create, to transform.

This wasn’t just about lighting or composition—
this was about interpretation.
About saying yes to the unknown and letting creativity lead.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Texas School continues to stretch us, challenge us, and remind us why we create in the first place.

There’s a moment—right before everything clicks—where light, emotion, and intention finally align.

That’s what this week at Texas School has been about.

In Kelly & Kalina Schneider’s class, it’s not just about dialing in exposure or chasing perfect light… it’s about refinement. The subtle shift of a hand. The direction of a gaze. The way light wraps, not just illuminates.

This frame felt like that moment.
Soft, controlled light.
A quiet confidence.
A story that doesn’t need to shout.

It’s learning to slow down… to see the details most people miss… and to build images with purpose, not luck.

Grateful for the push to elevate—not just technically, but artistically.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about taking more photos…
it’s about creating better ones.

Some classes teach lighting…
others teach you how to see.

Kelly & Kalina Schneider’s class at Texas School of Professional Photography was exactly that—a masterclass in vision, intention, and storytelling through light.

This image felt like stepping into another era… timeless, elegant, cinematic. Every shadow placed with purpose. Every highlight guiding your eye. Nothing accidental—everything intentional.

It’s not just about creating a beautiful portrait…
it’s about building a scene that feels alive.

The quiet moment. The story in her expression. The subtle tension between strength and softness. That’s the magic they push you to find.

Grateful for instructors who don’t just show you how to shoot—
they challenge you to create with meaning.

Texas School hits different when you’re surrounded by artists who raise your standard.

Not every fairytale ends the way you expect… 🍷🌹

Some end in dimly lit rooms, with stories written between shadows and silence—where elegance lingers, but something deeper stirs beneath the surface.

Captured during Texas School of Professional Photography, this scene felt like stepping into a cinematic moment frozen in time. The richness of the wood, the glow of the bar, the contrast of soft tulle against something bold and untamed… it’s that tension I chase as an artist.

Beauty… but with an edge.
Grace… with a story.
Light… with intention.

This week has been about more than just learning—it’s been about seeing differently. Pushing past the obvious. Creating images that don’t just look good… but feel something.

Because the best photographs don’t just show a moment—
they leave you wondering what happened before… and what comes next.

There’s something powerful about placing elegance where it doesn’t “belong”… and watching it take over.

This moment from Texas School of Professional Photography felt like stepping into a story—soft, timeless beauty wrapped in layers of tulle, standing boldly between rows of knowledge and history. 📚✨
Light carving shape. Shadows holding mystery. Emotion doing the rest.

This is what I love most about creating… taking a space, a subject, and a vision—and letting them collide into something cinematic, something felt.

We didn’t just take a photo…
we built a mood, a presence, a quiet kind of power.

Texas School continues to remind me—
art isn’t found, it’s created.

What story do you see in this frame?

There’s a quiet kind of power in the moments before everything changes.

This was Thrill’s final pause inside Terra—his beloved plantation—just minutes before the distant echoes of war reached his doorstep. The light still poured through the stained glass, the walls still held their stories… but the air had shifted. He knew.

Not with panic.
Not with fear.
But with a kind of heavy acceptance.

Outside, history was unfolding—part of the devastating march that would leave places like this reduced to ash. Inside, time slowed. One last breath. One last look. One last moment to remember what was.

Creating this series during the Texas School of Professional Photography was something special. We didn’t just take portraits—we built narratives. Crafted emotion. Stepped into characters and let the story guide every frame.

And honestly? That’s where the magic lives.
Not just in the light.
Not just in the composition.
But in the story you can feel without a single word being spoken.

Huge shoutout to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life—this is what happens when creativity, collaboration, and a little bit of imagination collide.

From beauty… to ash… to art. 🔥📸
