Hey everyone! I’m Shellie Renee — the face, heart, and camera behind Shellie Renee Photography. By day, I work full-time at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University Medical Center, and I’m also a part-time student at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks! ❤️🤍). I’m a proud mom of two amazing girls (now 31 and 27!) and blessed with a boy

friend who truly has the patience of a saint for putting up with my busy schedule and endless photo adventures. When I do get free time, I’m usually running (literally) all over Ohio and beyond, capturing photos. I love freezing real, honest moments — the ones that tell your story and make you feel something every time you look back. Thanks for following along and supporting this little dream of mine. ⚾️ If I'm there for the 13U game, you know I've gotta stay for the 10U game too! ⚾️

And I'm so glad I did because these boys came ready to play. The throws were sharp, the slides were flying, and the bats were absolutely ON FIRE! 🔥💨

It was a fun one to watch and even more fun to capture through my lens. So proud of the hustle, effort, and teamwork these boys showed on the field. Keep up the great work, boys! ❤️⚾️

📚🎓 Oh, the Places You'll Go! 🎓📚

There she sits, outside the elementary school that helped shape so many of her first adventures, holding a book that seems especially fitting for this moment.

"You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so... get on your way!" — Dr. Seuss

As she turns the page from elementary school to middle school, she carries with her so much more than books and memories. She carries friendships, lessons learned, laughter shared, and the confidence that comes from growing a little more each day.

The halls she has known are behind her now, but a whole new world of opportunities, experiences, and adventures lies ahead. While it may feel like the end of one story, it's really the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Congratulations, sweet girl. Your elementary school days may be coming to a close, but your journey is just getting started.

On another episode of "What’s Blocking My Camera?!"

This week's mystery photos include:

☀️ A completely random picture of the bright blue sky — which, in my defense, may have been my way of documenting that for at least one day in May, it didn't rain and there wasn't a cloud in sight.

👕 A blurry photo that appears to be my shirt. Or maybe my arm. Or maybe a close-up of absolutely nothing useful.

My best guess? I was trying to balance my camera, fix tassels on graduation caps, and somehow still function as a photographer. 🤷🏻‍♀️🎓📸

At this point, I've stopped asking why these photos exist. I've simply accepted that my shutter button has a mind of its own.

One minute I'm taking graduation portraits or sports actions shots...The next minute I'm building an accidental collection of abstract art.

Honestly, it's the Wild West out here when it comes to my camera roll. 🤠😂

Letter to mom.......

Dear Mommy,

Guess what?! I graduated kindergarten! 🎓

I learned my ABCs, how to read lots of words, and I made so many friends. Now I get to go to first grade, and I am so excited!

Even though I'm getting bigger, I will always be your little girl. I still need your hugs, your kisses, and for you to tell me everything is going to be okay.

Thank you for packing my lunch, helping me with my homework, cheering for me, and loving me every day.

I might be going to first grade, but I will always be your baby.

Sometimes the proudest moments have nothing to do with the scoreboard. ❤️

I’m gonna brag on my niece for a minute because this girl was chosen as the 2025–2026 Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award recipient!!! WHAT!! 🏆😭

Scarlett is a three-sport scholar athlete competing in Basketball, Cross Country, and Softball — but what makes this award so special is that it goes far beyond athletic ability.

The Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award is given to only ONE female and ONE male athlete at each participating school.

Athletes must:
⭐ Participate in at least three sports
⭐ Maintain strong academic standing
⭐ Demonstrate sportsmanship, humility, leadership, volunteerism, and respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and their community

What makes my heart extra happy is knowing this award is voted on by coaches who look at the WHOLE person — not just stats or wins, but who you are on the field, in the classroom, and in everyday life.

Congratulations Scarlett — SOOOOO VERY PROUD OF YOU and this incredible accomplishment.
