I’m so honored to have been selected to participate in “Edge of the Pacific: Bay Perspectives” which is an exhibit that explores our local waters in the San Francisco Bay and surrounding coastline.
The exhibit was curated by Jan Watten (Gray Loft Gallery) and Nick Winkworth (Bay Area Photographers Collective) and is part of the “Ocean Photographer of the Year” exhibition at the Alameda Navel Air Station in the historic World War II Hangar 41, 650 West Tower venue, at Alameda Point!

Sharing the space, the Sailing Science Center presents hands-on marine science exhibits where visitors can engage directly with ocean processes such as tides, wave formation, and the impacts of marine plastics—deepening understanding through play, inquiry, and discovery.
Tickets are going fast. I hope to see you there!!!

“Holding On” (2010)
Color and form shape the calla lily into a heart-like abstraction.
At its edge, an ant holds fast.
We all hold on... to love, to memory, to what matters.
Nature reminds us how delicate that balance can be.

This piece is part of the Arts Council of Santa Cruz County’s annual exhibition and silent auction, “Hearts for the Arts,” celebrating love in action through artist-contributed works.
100% of proceeds from donated artwork directly fund arts education across Santa Cruz County.
On view now through February 13.

First Friday Reception
February 6 | 6–8 PM

“Carrizo Snow” 2023
So honored to be selected for an exhibit at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts Exhibition: Landscapes: Real or Imagined
Exhibition Dates: Nov 15 - Dec 12, 2025
I was fortunate enough to attend the opening in person to see all the great work and meet new friends!
As a weather geek, I was watching a storm in the west and saw that it was going to snow in Carrizo Plains National Monument (possibly on the valley floor). I ran out from work and drove to find snow blanketing the rolling hills as the clouds danced across the skies. A special trip that yielded several special photographs.
Special thanks to director, David DeMelin for putting together a great exhibition and to juror Cara Weston for selecting my image to be included in the exhibit. If you are on the west coast, don’t miss “A Shared Vision: Photographs by Cara Weston and Brett Thomas” at the Pacific Grove Art Center!!
