Welcome to my page, Laura Wells Photography!
As I step into my second full year of photography, I wanted to create a brand that felt like me, and I’m so excited to finally share it!!
Thanks to the most talented, Hannah Kelly, I was able to bring my vision to life with her artwork. She even included a drawing of my favorite building, Herring Cole.
I’ve loved taking pictures since I was young, but my passion really took off when I studied abroad in Kenya. Documenting a different way of life and culture in a meaningful way opened my eyes to what photography could be for me — a way to capture and share human connection.
The connections I witnessed and experienced there still inspire me today. That sense of presence, emotion, and story has carried into my work ever since. Prioritizing connection, and creating photos that feel like something is at the heart of what I do and will continue doing!
As I look ahead at the photographer I’m growing into, I want to prioritize honesty — documenting moments as they feel, not as they’re posed. I want the people I photograph to feel present and fully themselves, so the images reflect the real emotions, connections, and season of life they’re in.
I feel so lucky every day to do work that feels meaningful to me and to meet such kind, creative people across states and countries, including new photographer friends. The biggest thanks to Julia Kia Photography for the amazing headshots!
I absolutely can’t wait to keep doing what I love and connecting with even more incredible people through my passion. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my business this past year. It means the world!
