Hiking to Nick Eaton Falls on the Herman Creek #406 Trail was a blast. It's pretty steep starting off and finishing but up on top near the Herman Creek Camp it's really fun exploring. Next time I want to hike to Pacific Crest Falls and explore the Pacific Crest Trail a bit.
Cheers everyone!

This older cow had a pretty face and was munching on grasses at the top of the unnamed middle dune lake, in between Crabapple and Coffenbury Lakes (probably just one dune lake in a time long ago). Roosevelt elk are plentiful at Fort Stevens and nearby Warrenton.

The land of (or waters) the Great White Heron.

These aren’t black and whites but the morning was like a typical morning in Oregon’s fall weather as it was dark, cloudy and raining. At the David Dewett Veterans Memorial Wayside in Coos Bay, Oregon.

This doesn't look bad from far away (first photo) but when you crop in (second photo) you realize that your camera's autofocus focused on the reeds in front of the elk instead of the elk. :(

I should have looked at the focus magnifier which I rarely do, taking for granted my camera's autofocus system. You would think my Sony a7iii's 693 autofocus points would have done the job.
