Concerned about armadillos and leprosy?
In 2019, when I first moved to Brevard, I had an issue with armadillos and I didn’t want them in my fenced in backyard with my dog.

I researched, tweaked and tried this with great success when I was a homeowner. (Works with feral cats too and doesn’t hurt them)

I added the entire container of caster oil, maybe about 1/3 of Dawn.

👉🏼 Add caster oil into a lawn & garden sprayer
👉🏼 Add Dawn dish soap (I used the blue one)
👉🏼 Add 4-6 drops of rosemary oil

Mix and spray around the perimeter in the evening of where you want to prevent them. Reapply next few days if armadillos return.

You may dilute with water if your sprayer is having a difficult time spraying. I wouldn’t add too much.

I sprayed around my perimeter once and armadillos stopped digging under my fence and I no longer had an issue. I later used the same formula to spray again to stop feral cats from coming into my yard. It didn’t hurt them but they hated the smell.

I had some really great emails from Hometown News Brevard readers giving me recommendations for shopping at Costco.

Only thing I bought that wasn’t recommended were the kiwis and some bananas. (They were good)

Keep your recommendations coming – I love them and so far, none of you have steered me wrong.

A few trips ago, I stocked up on toilet paper and paper towels to prep for an apocalypse. 🤣

As for these items, the jury is still out. Keep watching Hometown News to find out if this stuff passed the test.

Super El Niño doesn’t mean no storms…just prepared.

Tropical Depression Two has formed in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha and rake along the AL, MS, LA, and TX near Houston by Friday morning.

This tropical storm will have a coastal flooding, flash flooding, and threat. It’s track could take more moisture and heavy rainfall into flood ravaged parts of Texas by next weekend
