This picture was taken in the summer of 2024, just after 5:30 a.m. Itโs not my best photoโfar from it. But I think itโs important to share the not-so-perfect shots too. Photography is a journey, and every picture is a step forward.
Iโve never been one to sleep long hours while camping. Maybe itโs the sheer beauty that surrounds me, or maybe itโs the quiet alertness that comes with sleeping in โbear and cat country.โ Whatever the reason, Iโm always the first to wake. The first to get the fire going. And always the first to enjoy the peace of a place like this.
Standing by the reservoir that morning, I was struck by how still everything was. The water mirrored the rising sun, creating a reflection that seemed to almost blur the line between sky and earth. It wasnโt a perfect shot, but it was a perfect momentโa reminder that every sunrise is a chance to try again, to grow, and to keep moving forward.
Sometimes, itโs not about capturing a flawless image. Itโs about capturing the experience, the memory, and the lessons learned along the way.
