TASH SULTANA at Town of Perinton Amphitheater in Fairport, NY last Wednesday.
This show was truly special.
I’ve been listening to Tash ever since they first released Jungle on YouTube nearly 10 years ago. Their music inspired me to pick up a guitar, become a musician, and start writing songs of my own…music that helped me navigate heartbreak, grief, depression, and some of the most difficult chapters of my life.
Back in 2022, I saw Tash perform at Babeville during one of the darkest periods I’ve ever faced. I remember watching a few photographers documenting the show and thinking to myself, one day, I’m going to photograph Tash. It felt like a distant dream at the time, but I made a promise to myself that I would make it happen.
Fast forward to today, and that same creative spark has evolved into my photographic art. Last week, I had the incredible privilege of photographing Tash in their element, doing what they do best and inspiring thousands through their music.
It’s a reminder that the goals we set in our hardest moments can become reality if we keep creating, keep believing, and keep showing up. Five years ago, this was a dream. Last Wednesday, it became a memory I’ll never forget.
Thank you, Tash, for inspiring not only the musician in me, but also the artist behind the camera 🤍
