Six Years.

Six years of watching babies become big kids, personalities emerge, and a family become exactly who they are meant to be.

I've photographed so many chapters for this crew over the years, and somewhere along the line they became more than clients. They've become part of the rhythm of my seasons. Year after year, they've made the drive from Pueblo, trusted me with their memories, and allowed me the privilege of documenting their story.

Watching Sarah Watkins step into this season of life and seeing the strength, love, and joy she's built for her family has been an honor.

Knowing they're moving makes my heart a little heavy. I have already been promised they will return to Colorado for sessions in the future.

For now I'm just grateful. Grateful for the years, the trust, the laughter, and the chance I've gotten to watch this family grow.

Time moves faster than we think it will. The little moments become memories before we're ready, which is exactly why documenting them matters.

I think I share a lot about how grateful I am for my clients and the friendships this work has gifted me, but I want to say how grateful I am for the vendors I've had the privilege of working alongside. Many have become dear friends, and some feel more like family.

Marriage isn't about perfect conditions. It's about choosing each other when life doesn't go according to plan. Holding on when the winds pick up. Dancing anyway. And finding your way through every storm together.

They've come from Ohio for their wedding in the Rockies, but before the vows and celebration, we spent a morning wandering together and sipping coffee.

I'll never stop believing that this part matters. The photos are great, but getting to know the people is what changes everything. Sometimes it happens a year, a few months, and in some cases just days before a wedding. Doesn't matter to me as long as it happens.

Somewhere between the conversation, the laughter, and the quiet moments tucked into the pines strangers become familiar. And when tomorrow arrives at the foot of Mount Princeton in the Heart of the Rockies, it won't feel like I'm showing up to photograph a wedding. It will feel like I'm celebrating alongside friends.

The mountains showed off. Their favorite people gathered close. And these two spent the day exactly as they should have, fully present in every moment.

I’m still convinced the wind was a paid actor hired exclusively for the ceremony photos.

But long after the views fade and the weather is forgotten, they’ll have this. The promises they made and the life they’ll build together from here.

The Arkansas has a way of teaching you that the most beautiful things are always moving.

Water carving stone. Seasons changing the mountains. Two lives finding their way toward the same horizon.

With family gathered from Albuquerque and beyond beneath Mt. Princeton’s towering peaks, Jacque and Dylan promised forever down by the creek at MoonStream Vintage Campground. A reminder that love, much like water, isn’t meant to stand still, it is meant to flow, to wander, and to carry us home.

Golden grass, cool water, aspens whispering overhead, and two people just days away from becoming husband and wife.

Not every engagement session happens months before a wedding. Sometimes life, travel, and destination plans mean it happens the week before. But there is still something special about slowing down together before the celebration begins.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate to be beautiful. Some of the most timeless flat lays are the simplest ones.

Wedding season is upon us, and this is your gentle reminder not to forget the details that tell your story. Setting a few meaningful items aside for your photographer ahead of time makes all the difference.

Here are some of the more commonly included pieces, if you want a place to start:

Paper goods if you’re using them. Invitations, envelopes, stamps, vow books.
Jewelry, heirlooms, perfume. Anything you’ll wear that holds meaning.
Florals. Ask your florist to hold back a few loose stems so we’re not pulling from your bouquet or bud vases.
Shoes for both of you.
From your groom. Tie, cufflinks, watch, boutonnière, cologne.

Or keep it simple. Your shoes, your jewelry, and a few florals is more than enough.
