I don't normally photograph weddings, but this one was a must.
Jake, I've loved watching you grow up alongside my brother, become a father, and now stand beside the woman you've chosen to spend your life with. You found a good one, and she found herself a devoted family man.

Marriage is a lot like that cowboy life. Some days are calm and beautiful. Some days are hard. There will be storms to weather, fences to mend, and long roads ahead. But the best cowboys know that no matter where the trail leads, family is always worth coming home to.

Ride in the same direction. Keep your hearts soft and your commitment strong. Circle the wagons when life gets tough, and never lose sight of the people waiting around your table.

Love you both. Congratulations on the start of a beautiful adventure.

{Documentary Session}

Growing up, there was always a garden somewhere in our childhood. It was part of the rhythm of the seasons and now my sister is continuing that tradition with her own babies.

These are the moments I love most, hands in the dirt, lessons learned without even realizing it, and memories being made in the middle of ordinary days. One day, these kids will watch the food they helped grow make its way to the family table, and that's a pretty dang cool accomplishment.

The little things in life often become the big things we remember.

Motherhood.

I wish more moms realized just how important it is to get in the pictures with their kids. And listenā€¦ I get it. I really do.

My personal goal this year is to be in more photos with my own girls ā€” despite the extra 40 pounds life kindly dropped on me during a stressful season šŸ˜… because if I wait until I feel ā€œbetter,ā€ ā€œsmaller,ā€ ā€œless tired,ā€ or more put togetherā€¦ life will keep moving anyway.

Our kids keep growing.

As moms, we spend so much time protecting our babies, raising them, worrying about them, trying to prepare them for this big world. We carry so much. But I think sometimes we forget to think about the someday. The someday when we arenā€™t here anymore. What will they hold onto?

Photos.

Photos of you laughing with them. Holding them. Adventuring together. Fishing at the lake. Snuggled up at home. Windblown hair, messy buns, chaos, dirty shoes, bad weather, real life. Not because everything looked perfect.

But because you were there.

Because someday these images become proof of love. Proof of childhood. Proof of home. So hereā€™s your loving little kick in the butt to stop caring about the size, the outfit, the laundry pile, or whatever excuse your brain has convinced you matters.

Book the session because every single day they get a little older, and these will be the photos theyā€™ll hold onto forever.

Senior photos shouldnā€™t feel like everyone else's.

Iā€™ve spent two decades behind the camera constantly evolving, learning, investing, and staying on top of whatā€™s current in photography, editing, lighting, and storytelling because I want my seniors walking away with images that actually feel like them.

Clean. Modern. Editorial. Candid. Confident.

And hereā€™s the thing:
You shouldnā€™t have to choose between your memories.
I donā€™t make seniors pick 10 images out of hundreds or charge extra for every photo. You get your full final gallery because the in-between moments matter just as much as the big ones.

My goal is simple:
Create senior photos that feel different from what everyone else around here is doing. Images that feel current now and still look good years from now.

I'm having a moment lately, all of the kids I watched grow up are now having babies of their own. Every time I open Facebook, there's another one and I think it's only appropriate that we get them all together for the initial group baby picture before we recreate it in 14 years when they're all on some sort of court or field together.

The best part of my job is being able to photograph one of the most monumental exits and entries of childhood through adulthood.

Senior photos on the surface, is just something we do. However these are the last photos weā€™ll have before our children take on the world before the chapter of raising them comes to a close. Our aim is to document all the parts of who they are before the world spins them around and shoots them back out as adults on a new journey.

My goal is to not run each kid through the cookie cutter mill of senior photography but rather chase down the photographs that make up this final stage of life before the doors open and the flood of big life rushes in.

Itā€™s time senior photography tells a story.
