Book that session for your kiddos!📸
Photoshoots with children aren’t always easy but they are always possible. I promise we’ll get that shot. Every session turns into something super fun, full of personality and little surprises. It’s a learning process for all of us as we discover what helps your kiddo shine and step out of their comfort zone.
Here’s what I do at J & I Edit Photography to help kids feel comfortable and confident:
✨ Bring fun props and tools
I always have my trusty bubble machine bubbles work like magic 🪄
✨ Engage with the child directly
I make sure to talk to them, not just around them. Even if they’re too little to understand, inclusion matters.
I ask simple questions like, “What’s your favorite color?” or “Do you like superheroes or princesses?”
I get down to their eye level so they feel seen and safe
✨ Make the session feel like playtime
We’ll do silly faces together
I’ll let them run, jump, dance, or explore if that’s their style
✨ Take breaks when needed
Kids aren’t robots, and that’s okay!
If they need a snack, water, or a minute with mom or dad, we roll with it
Sometimes the best photos come right after a reset moment
✨ Celebrate every little win
High-fives, clapping, “You’re doing amazing!” kids thrive on encouragement
I show them a few photos on the camera so they feel involved and proud🙌🏻
