2.We are SO blessed with the MOST warm and aligned couples - they always always make sure we’re fed the same hot main at the same time as them AT LEAST, they ask about dietary restrictions, and they always leave us the kindnest notes and reviews. It’s everything. Our couples mean SO MUCH to us.
All that said though there’s a reason we (affectionately MOSTLY) say this job is like joining the circus - coined that, it’s SO apt a description and he says it in such better words why! - this job is no employer insurance options, no PTO (omg I sound like Victoria of RHOC, BUT LITERALLY ITS TRUE THAT PART OF WHAT SHE SAYS IS TRUE!), and if I’m being entirely honest for us and so many in this industry; it’s really no days off ever. It can be incredibly rough on your body, makes weekends close to nonexistent, and takes you away from your pets and kids if you have em for 10+ hour days and often whole weekends at a time. AND it’s the best job I never could have dreamed I’d get to have. Zoey too. And that we get to do it together is just a DREAM. It’s everything.
Our couples are genuinely the reason for everything we have, the roof over our heads, our dream jobs, so much time together, so many fabulous experiences and connections, our wedding rings, literally the organic top notch hay/food in our bunny’s bowl. Our couples make our world go round in so many ways and it is a COMPLETE honor to document these very sacred memories for and with them, and their people. It’s so so special.
This career, this art has allowed us to forge our own path and create truly magic out of thin air and out of the best thing in the whole world; LOVE. And it’s HARD WORK. In every way. It requires a LOT of emotional, physical, spiritual labor and true skill - both in the craft but often more importantly in customer service and hospitality. Making people feel comfortable and SEEN does NOT just happen. It requires so much intention and we pour everything we are and have into it every single wedding and couple.
