Having not been out with all the wind, and not wanting to deal with weekend crowds, did a late night solo trip in the back.
Plan A: Fail.
Plan B: Fail.
Plan C: Fail.
On the way back skunked and revisiting Plan A, found a pile of fish eating small bait in only 1 location. Able to save the night with 11 fish from 12" to 22" and yes they all got tagged, even the 12 incher 🤣 . Times are tough this year 😅

Sad to see a nice bass washed up, but nothing goes to waste. Plenty of birds feeding on it, this one was just bold enough to almost let me pet it. He wasn't about to give up a prime lunch time freebie.

While photos online make it look like it busted wide open, it just hasn't yet. Not for me or anyone I talk to anyway. Some big fish around but social media can be deceiving. Maybe we (or it's just me 🤷‍♂️) got spoiled by some past years and 1 or 2 fish over 45" just isn't quite good enough for the day anymore. 😅 4 days of fishing since they "showed up" and only landing/tagging a handful of fish covering a lot of water. Maybe I just suck 😅. It is still earlier than usual and hopefully this current storm and new moon shakes some things up...

That Daiwa Saltist Star Drag has killed a lot of seabass these last 2 days. 3 man boat limit yesterday and a 5 man boat limit today. Crabs, baby lobster, mantis shrimp and our own bait pieces all getting spit up, but the seahorse in the 2nd slide got my attention. I've had them in mahi but never anything else.

Didn't find any driftwood but found 20-30 albies blasting bait in the sand, watching them swim through the waves in tropical colored water .
Good consolation prize 🤷‍♂️ First on an open beach for me in a lonnggg time
