Proverbs 22:6
"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Children are like seeds planted in the soil of our homes. What we pour into them today----our faith, our love, our example----takes root in their hearts and grows throughout their lives.
Proverbs 22:6 reminds us that guiding a child toward God is one of the most important responsibilities that we have.
Training a child doesn't just happen through words; it happens through the way we live. When children see prayer in our daily lives, kindness is our actions, and trust in God during difficult moments, they learn what it means to walk in faith. Our example often teaches louder than our instructions.
This verse is also a reminder of hope. Even when children grow up and face their own struggles, the truth planted in their hearts remain. God's Word has a way of returning to them, guiding them back to the path they were shown.
If you are raising children, influencing grandchildren, teaching, or mentoring young people, never underestimate the impact of the seeds you plant. Every prayer, every Bible story, every act of love is shaping a life.
God honors the faithful effort of those who guide the next generation. The lessons of faith you share today may become the foundation that carries them through a lifetime.
What is one way you can help guide a child toward God today?
Lord, help me lead the children in my life with love, wisdom, and a faithful example. May the seeds of faith planted today grow strong in their hearts for years to come. Amen
