'The One'

You were my soulmate, my happiness, my life, the one that believed in me, in you I found strength

You were the one who gave meaning to my life, you gave me purpose and a reason to live.

You were the sunshine in all my waking hours, my light, my go to, my guardian and my guide.

You were the one I could always rely on, together nothing fazed us, we were confident and strong.

You were the one who made me feel safe, my stalworth, my protector, my anchor and my rock.

You were the one I could always turn to, your love and support I could always count on.

You were the one who could always make me smile, even on those days when life seemed a little hard.

You were the one that I loved with all my heart and will continue to do so, for the rest of my life.

She sat at the back and they said she was
shy
She led from the front and they hated her
pride

They asked her advice and then questioned her
guidance
They branded her loud then were shocked by her
silence

When she shared no ambition, they said it was
sad
So she told them her dreams and they said she was
mad

They told her they'd listen then covered their
ears
And gave her a hug whilst they laughed at her
fears

And she listened to all of it, thinking she
should
Be the girl they told her to be, best as she
could

But one day she asked what was best for
herself
Instead of trying to please everyone
else

So she walked to the forest and stood with the
trees
She heard the wind whisper and dance with the
leaves

And she spoke to the willow, the elm and the
pine
And she told them what she'd been told, time after
time

She told them she felt she was never enough
She was either too little or far, far too much
Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak
Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek

Then she found a small clearing, surrounded by
firs
And she stopped and she heard what the trees said to
her

And she sat there for hours not wanting to
leave
For the forest said nothing, it just let her
breathe

Graced by Your Love

I miss you in the quiet hours,
Where echoes of your voice reside,
The world feels dimmer without your light,
A shadow cast where you’d abide.

Yet in this ache, a treasure gleams,
A love so rare, a bond so true,
I hold it close within my heart,
The gift of being loved by you.

You taught me strength, you showed me grace,
You held my soul when it felt bare,
Through every storm, your steady hand,
A love that few could hope to share.

Though distance lies between us now,
And I reach for what is out of view,
The pain is softened, sweetened still,
For I was lucky to be loved by you.

So as the tears begin to fall,
And longing whispers soft and low,
I find my solace in this truth:
Your love will never let me go.

A GREAT TEACHER

A great teacher is a human with a soft heart, who bravely commits to letting hundreds of even softer hearts into theirs, to be held safe.

A great teacher is a watering can, daily nursing seeds so vulnerable, they can never quite begin to stop scanning the sky for hawks and lightning.

A great teacher keeps their garden safe and secure but also a little wild and free, teaching those seeds to bloom in any soil no matter the surrounding and reminding them they are not crop, they are all the flowers this earth proudly hosts.

A great teacher sleeps with little faces on their minds and delicate self-worths nestling safely in their soul.

A great teacher sprinkles this world with their magic as the children they teach rise up and fly so far.

And does all of this around their own life. If you know a teacher like this, water their soil sometimes too. They give their own away so freely.
