This weekend in Del Mar, California, I ran between the horse show and the soccer tournament where my son was playing in the Surf Champions League. With the help of other moms and a supportive trainer, it worked out and despite some distracted riding (like almost going off course 🙄) we both had a successful weekend. Here’s to all of the moms who wear several hats and manage to succeed in so many different arenas, all while parenting their incredible children.

Almost 10 years ago I showed up in jeans and sneakers to take a riding lesson. The first one I’d had in 27 years. I am still amazed by the good fortune I had to land in such an incredible place. The people and horses I met at that barn changed my life. I am eternally grateful to Nick and Far West for bringing me back into the sport I loved as a child and for giving me the skills and knowledge to chase unfinished childhood dreams. The memories are immense and the happiness runs deep. My daughter learned to walk and talk and spent most of her first two years at the barn - sometimes plopped in my trunk while I groomed my horse. The cozy square of stalls lined with show trunks will forever be etched in my mind as the place where I fell in love with riding and horses all over again. 💙♥️💙
