Happy Summer Solstice to you!

I photographed this magnificent cloudscape, the sun rays and the brilliant blue sky on a glorious Summer day and wanted to share it with you. When I create photos I always try to capture not just the visual but also the emotional essence of the scene and this feels exactly like Summer to me.

This is the Professional version of the 801 which was introduced in 1979.

This is a Mavic 840 SSC! I love the classic combination of black and silver parts.

It is one of two dérailleurs manufactured by Mavic in the new and expanded version of The Dérailleur Project book!

The Mavic 840 SSC was introduced in 1990 and was compatible with Shimano index shifters. It was manufactured by Simplex. It is completely rebuildable and is held together by pins and
circlips. It features Mavic’s signature hard anodizing on the pivot bolt, parallelogram plates and cage plates.

Behind The Scenes with The Dérailleur Project Book!

This is a lighting test with the Ofmega Premier that's featured in the book.

This rear dérailleur was photographed in my studio. The gray card is used to color balance the photo during post-production editing and retouching ensuring accurate and repeatable color reproduction.

The Ofmega Premier is one of two dérailleurs manufactured by Ofmega in the new and expanded version of The Dérailleur Project book! It was introduced in 1984 and was one of the classiest and most elegant dérailleurs of its era. The geometry was a derivative of the Shimano Crane and the beautiful, pearly silver finish was on par with Campagnolo.

Longmont Water Tower!

I love how the trees frame the tower and the angles of the roofline in the background compliment the angular shape of the base. I converted the image to black & white to add a vintage feeling since the tower was built around 1940.
