lots of new faces here, so i wanted to reintroduce myself. 🤍

my name is emory. i am a mother, a poet, and a creative.

i have been writing for as long as i can remember. i write to understand, to heal, to capture what might otherwise slip away. i write to make sense of this beautiful, wild, and aching life. i write because it feels as vital to my being as breath.

in 2024, i published my debut poetry collection, Made of Rivers, with Hay House via Penguin Books … a dream i am still processing. if it found you then, or only recently, i hope its words have offered some small companionship as you navigate the river of your own life and healing.

my husband, Trevor Hall and i also made a musical EP of Made of Rivers, which is available wherever you stream music.

i have three children: kailash (5), finn (2), and willow, who will soon turn one. they are my greatest teachers, and motherhood has become one of my most profound muses.

i’m not always sure how to show up in this strange little space called social media, but what i do know is that i want to keep sharing my words and art as honestly and truly as i can. this community, and all that my work has fostered here, is invaluable to me.

i’m so happy you’re here. thank you.

with great love,
emory

I have been trying to find the words for what Nepal has meant to me, and for the heartbreak of watching tragedy unfold in Rasuwa.

I spent the better part of a decade living and working in Nepal. Before I knew how to write about it, I photographed it.

These images were made across several journeys through Rasuwa. I don’t know what else to do but share them. To share how much beauty and life pulsed through those villages. How much laughter, color, devotion, work, family, and grace existed beyond the edges of every frame.

So much has been lost.

So much.

My full essay is free on my Substack, with links to support relief efforts. If you have the means, please consider donating. If you cannot donate, sharing the essay or relief information is another meaningful way to help. ❤️‍🩹

I pray the people in these photographs are safe. I pray their families are safe. I pray the world does not look away.

home with my hutch and the last of this season’s peaches 🍑🤍

the first drop of the CHRISTY DAWN fall collection is here, and this sweater is going to be a staple for me. the entire collection is so beautiful—made for keeping, with silhouettes that feel like little heirlooms in the making and a softness reminiscent of the past. 🕊️
