JumpingLion Photography

JumpingLion Photography Director of Photography, Kay Phillips, and Chief Photographer, Hamilton D. Moore share their joy in the Mojave Desert on fine art prints and giclées.

JumpingLion Photography presents its catalog of images, upcoming shows and missions. We present a unique perspective of the Mojave, capturing striking images which stir the sole. We present them on archival quality paper or canvas from the best manufacturers for your enjoyment. Whether we are on a multi-day hiking mission in the wilderness, preparing the images, or printing them, we painstakingly

ensure your image is a faithful rendition of the scene. We are currently using Nikkor lenses and a Nikon D3x to capture the images. They are managed in Apple Aperture, prepared for printing in Photoshop using a Spyder calibrated monitor. The images are printed on Fredriks 901 canvas or elegance velvet matte by ColorBryte by an Epson 9900 printer. The canvas is stretched over heat treated 1.5 inch stitcher bars by Elite Art and Framing of Henderson, NV. Prints are taped to archival quality double mats and placed in a protective plastic bag.

In the 1960s, when astronauts needed a writing tool that worked in zero gravity, extreme temperatures, and pure oxygen environments, Paul C. Fisher stepped up. He spent over $1 million of his own money developing the pressurized ink cartridge that became the Fisher Space Pen.
NASA tested it. It passed. And in 1968, the Space Pen flew aboard Apollo 7. The Russians adopted it soon after.

But Fisher’s entrepreneurial spirit went beyond invention:
- He founded Fisher Pen Company in 1948 and created the iconic Bullet Pen.
- He believed in treating employees like family—a value still carried on by his son Cary and grandson Matt.
- He ran for public office multiple times, driven by a desire to improve systems and serve others.

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about products—it’s about persistence, purpose, and solving real problems. Paul C. Fisher embodied that. On National Entrepreneur’s Day, we celebrate his relentless curiosity and the bold thinking that launched the Fisher Space Pen into orbit.

May the lost art of a handwritten letter never fade too far from our existence. Handwritten letters create a visceral experience for both the giver and the recipient.

Circa-Mid-1850s. One of the earliest photos of a Native American, this one showing a pet wolf. Unlike the many fearsome myths created about wolves by settlers, Native Americans maintained a close and respectful relationship with wolves and had domesticated them to become pet and working animals for hunting and carrying packs.
