Seven years married, thirteen loving you. I’ve loved so many versions of you and it feels like a gift to know there are still more to come. The years have stretched and shifted around us, but my one constant will always be you.
Being in the wedding industry and having seven years of marriage behind us, here are a few things I’ve learned along the way:
• Laughter fixes more than logic ever will.
• Love isn’t a constant feeling; it’s a daily action. Some days it’s effortless and some days it’s just remembering to pour them a cup of coffee first.
• There’s no finish line to understanding each other. The best you can do is keep trying with kindness and empathy.
• It’s okay to go to sleep angry. In fact, do. It’s better than arguing into the night and wearing yourselves thin. But wake up and choose to make that day better than your last.
• Love hides in the boring stuff like grocery runs, the laundry folded just the way they like it, or bringing their water bottle filled with ice because you know they like it cold.
So thankful for this life we’ve built together. Thanks for being my bestie. Happy Anniversary, amor mio.
