Hello Dear Friends,

You may have noticed that I haven’t posted in quite some time.

Like so many, all that time spent at home during the pandemic, away from life’s hustle and bustle - paired with the intense life transformation that is parenthood, made me realize that there is only so much time that we have - and that I have to choose carefully how that time is spent.

I realized that I didn’t want to spend all of my summer weekends working, instead of watching my son grow and enjoying the warmer months of the city with friends and family.

I realized that there were passion projects that I left behind, unable to juggle while running this studio - and that I dreadfully missed making work for myself.

I realized that parts that I loved to capture during weddings were not the dancing or the cake cutting, but the details and the fleeting moments, the people and the sense of space - all that when combined, told a rich story.

There are so many other stories out there that I want to capture. Stories of people, stories of brands, stories of places…

I stopped booking weddings about a year ago, and I’ve slowed down on the family lifestyle sessions, as well, but it’s been quite difficult for me to let go of this beautiful brand that I built. I spent so many years perfecting the look and feel, curating every detail.

But, I’m ready to say goodbye.

As of today, I have officially shut down the website, but I will leave this profile active to look back on in fondness.

I can’t believe that I’m 38 today, what a strange year it has been!

This past year has been a year of learning - how to be a Mama, how to survive a pandemic as a wedding photographer, how to spend time with myself when I can’t spend time with others. This year, In lieu of socializing, I’ve been working on myself, growing as an artist, a photographer, a wife and a mother. ❤️

I am so excited to see what is in store for my 38th year on this planet. I’m starting it off strong - moving into a new home, fully vaccinated, and throwing much of my energy into my lifestyle work.

One of my goals this year is to take more time to slow down, to practice gratitude, and to focus more on giving.

And, I am so excited about showing off some of my favorite spots with some amazing families.

I’ll be hosting 4 mini session dates at 4 different locations starting in late April, including a sunset session at Gilson Beach and a woodsy adventure in Thatcher Woods.

The moment when our little ones get to discover our favorite things - when we can light up their eyes with what makes us feel warm and fuzzy... to be able to share such joy with our little ones is such a beautiful gift.

The beach has been such a place for Brianne and Matt, who spent his childhood at Gilson beach learning to sail. Brianne met Matt while working as a Race Coordinator during a regatta that he was competing in. Little did they know that it was the beginning of their story together.
⁠
Naturally, Gilson beach was the perfect spot to document Dane’s first visit to the beach, his first touch of sand - the first time he dipped his toes in the water, his first time experiencing the sun set over the water, as the waves softly roll onto the shore.⁠

I’m being patient - being responsible, and keeping a safe distance, so that we can all have an amazing year as we make the gradual return to normalcy. ⠀

So excited to make new work, meet new people, travel to new places, and to soak up every moment that was missed in 2020!

Every year on New Year’s Eve, I sit down and I look at my list of goals from the passing year, I list the achievements that were made, and I write down my goals for the New Year. ⠀
⠀
This year, I thought that my list of achievements would be very slim, but to my surprise, I ended up running out of room to write. My achievements this year were very different from the goals I had written down a year ago (and there were, of course, a lot of losses), but even in 2020, I have a lot to celebrate...⠀

My son’s first year of life, being able to spend that first year at home with my husband watching our little guy grow, rebranding to Oh, the Life! and discovering a passion for documenting family life, and most of all, surviving 2020!⠀

Thrilled to say goodbye to 2020, and to welcome a new year!
