✨ Y'all, life is in desperate need or more whimsy. Truly- we're bogged down by constant bad news, bombarding us on our phones and TVs and newspapers. We are expected to stay distracted from one tragedy by focusing on a new one.

đŸĒģ Im not trying to be cliche and say get out and smell the roses but, like, maybe get out and watch the rain fall on the daffodils ya know?

🌤ī¸ I've been spending purposeful time incorporating whimsy and nature and nostalgia into my life lately to make up for all the other nonsense.

🧚‍♀ī¸ So anyways, do what you can to fit whimsy in your life so you don't get distracted from the good parts of life.

This your reminder that yes, I will absolutely photograph you with your animal.

As a vegan, I'd rather your photoshoot include an animal 😂 photographing with animals can be tricky but if Ollie, a creature of habit who isn't used to being out beyond the limits of his house, can get out and explore nature and actually end up enjoying it, then we can take great pictures of your animal too!

So if you've got a special animal in your life who you'd like to have photos with, memories solidified in the form of a photograph, let me know! You won't regret it. I have SO many pictures of my animals, not nearly enough with them. But I look at those photos very fondly of animals who are still with me, and those who have passed. Nothing can replace having photographs of them to remember them by.

So anyways I'm not crying, you're crying. Let me know when you want photos with your fur babes!

🌷 The best part of spring is the flowers. They don't last nearly long enough.

I always make sure each spring I set out to find tulips, cherry blossoms, magnolias, etc. I wish the flowers knew how awful winters are for us and how grateful we are to see their arrival! 💐

Oh, the return of the birds is tied with the return of flowers. When the birds come back, it's such a welcomed sign that winter is ending. Then we get to spend all spring and summer looking for them like a bunch of weirdos! (Aka birding). đŸĻ

So birds, no snow, flowers, what else are the best parts of spring that I didn't mention? 🤔

Ohh exuuuuseeee me for still gushing over my favorite photoshoot yet.

This could be you too. All you have to do is hire me to take your photos in this super secret river location so we can just hangout and play in the water and get you the beat photos ever 🤷‍♀ī¸

Truly the conditions for this session were perfect. The couple was not only happy, but eager to get into the water. So we all stood in a warm river, at sunrise, on a beautiful summer day and got what are my favorite photos so far!

Just missing Pittsburgh and wishing I was there today.

I'm worried this is looking like the first year since 2018 that I won't be making a PGH trip. Some years I went two or three times. Hopefully I'll find a way to hop over and make a quick visit.

Then boy oh boy are you gunna be stoked to know you can accomplish all of that with Persist Candles! 🤩

Katie and her top of the line, best smelling ever, no weird essential oil, vegan candles are one of my favorite people/products to photograph! Katie always picks a different vibe for each of the candle photoshoots we've done and as the photographer it's very fun to have so much creative freedom.

Maybe I miss , maybe I miss her blueberry muffins, or blueberry pies, or literally anything she makes but today felt like a good day to give her a little shout out!

To anyone who says "ew I don't like vegan or gf foods" that's because you haven't had Jen's. She genuinely makes the best treats and is top 9 Allergen free! Plus she is just the nicest person around. I have been vegan for 11 years and and am not gluten free. And so yes I can agree, a lot of people do gf very wrong. But not Jen..I promise you, the treats are moist, and tasty and she always offers some classic favoritea like cannolis or cookie monster brownies plus she switches it up and has rotating treats as well.

I think I was here to convince you to go get some of her treats but instead, convinced myself. So I'll meet you at Jen Lee's Bakery?? Cool, see you there!

Now that spring is officially here, I can't wait to head over to Portsmouth soon and see what they have planted in the gardens this year!

More places need public garden spaces for people to enjoy. That's not to say it's easy work, I know Portsmouth maintains their gardens with precision. But we need more spaces to enjoy the colors of nature that are free open to the public, and easily accessible.
