A man and his dog walk into the desert for enlightenment. The man stops and cries into the great expanse, "Who am I?"
In a low, soft tone, the desert answers, "Close your eyes."
"I cannot see anything but darkness now," exclaims the man.
Again, the great expanse responds, "Open your eyes. What do you see?"
"Beauty, I now see beauty." answers the man.
"You are beauty," echoes the desert.

To often we seek what is already in front of us and journey to distant places to discover what we already have.

The strength to persist on towards your desires exists only because of dreams. Dreams lead to visions of what you will find or create, and this vision evokes resolve in the pursuit of the same. Resolve becomes grit, and grit brings about realized dreams. Fear? Yes, fear, along with doubt, must be dealt with through strength (being brave). In my estimation, this is the circular model for success. Whatever vision you see shrouded within the foggy banks of your dream is achievable as long as you have the grit to pursue it.

I'm a proud lifetime member of the Boise Camera Club. Each year we have our End of Year Christmas Slideshow Party. Members of the club submit slideshows showcasing their beautiful imagery set to music. Each of us brings our favorite dish or desserts and we dine like kings. This event has always been my favorite. Here is the slideshow I submitted. I call it Wild Places and Warm Hearts. Enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone. Yesterday I hiked one of my favorite secret spots in the Owyhee front. Here are a couple images from that hike. It's incredible how much we leave behind when we walk within the renewing spirit of the light of the canyons and singing of the creek.

Throughout my life, I've learned of one constant; a person's most dominant thoughts will eventually manifest themselves to become that person's reality. The old phrase, "Be careful what you wish for," is the ultimate reality. The real challenge is to have consistency in what you think about. What you think about you bring about. All my life, I have dreamed of visiting wonderfully scenic places, and I often find myself in these places, sometimes at the expense of other things. However, it was my thoughts, desires, and efforts that have delivered me precisely to these places. Think and believe and then keep this image always in your mind, and one day you will realize it to be your new reality.
