If you think play is frivolous, childish (or just for children), or great...but not for you and the seriousness your life demands,
I get it. I do.
I've been there, thought that. (Especially, "play sounds intriguing, but won't fix the sh*t I need fixed in my life" part)
But. There are many things I've unlearned, and this has been one of the most valuable.
The recent US Play Coalition Conference confirmed that.
-----------------------------------------
***Play is a perspective. An attitude. A way of EXPERIENCING daily life, not just a sports game or something a child does on a swingset.***
The photos I take and ask you to experience with me? They are invitations to experiencing life through this new perspective and having photographic evidence to remind you to keep practicing.
-----------------------------------------
THIS FEELS SO DAMN IMPORTANT THAT I'M GOING TO KEEP SHOUTING (*and whispering* and talking) ABOUT IT.
We're in the midst of a chaotic redefinition of - well, everything. We're suffering and we're going to suffer more as the necessary breakdown continues.
I IMPLORE you to learn with me how these perspectives of play (curiosity, non-judgment, movement, embodiment, etc) will be the ways of seeing and creating reality that YOU and I need.
For now, photos to show what a playful conference looks like....
