5 things your photographer should NOT be doing before or after your wedding day đź‘€
1. Posting sneak peeks before you receive them.
Content creation and branding are a huge part of our job, but your wedding photos are YOUR photos. You paid us to capture your day, and you deserve to experience those images before they’re used to advertise our business.
2. Going weeks without communicating before your wedding.
As your wedding gets closer, you shouldn’t be wondering, “Did they forget about us?” or “Am I bothering them?” Timeline assistance, phone calls, check ins, or even a simple “One week away! How are you feeling?” can give you so much reassurance leading up to your day.
3. Not having backup systems in place.
SD cards are only one piece of protecting your photos. Hard drives fail, computers die, and files can become corrupted. If one storage method fails, another copy of your wedding photos should exist somewhere safe.
4. Photoshopping your body without you requesting it.
Flyaways, a dinner stain, or something bulky in a pocket? I’m happy to fix it. Changing your body is where I draw the line. I’m not going to slim your waist, shrink your arms, or flatten your stomach because I think it looks more “flattering.”
5. Charging industry standard pricing while using one camera body with one SD card slot.
My first two weddings were shot exactly like that! The difference? I was priced for that risk, and my clients knew my experience level. When you’re paying thousands, one corrupted SD card shouldn’t be capable of taking your entire gallery with it, and one camera malfunction shouldn’t mean missing your ceremony.
There are no do overs for a wedding day.
Cameras fail. Technology fails. Photographers are human. The goal isn’t someone who promises nothing will go wrong. It’s someone who has already planned for what happens if it does! 🤍
