This is actually such a great time of year for heirloom portraits, especially if youāre thinking about using these for Christmas gifts!
I wanted to answer a few common questions in this post about heirloom portraits:
ā¢ What are heirloom portraits?ļæ½Classic, fine-art portraits designed to stand the test of time. The focus is on your childās natural beauty and personality in a simple, timeless style.
ā¢ What ages are best?ļæ½I recommend heirloom portraits for children 6 months (sitting up)ā12 years. However, I capture 1-6 month olds in this style; they will just be lying back or on their belly. Sibling sessions are also available at a special rate.
ā¢ Whatās the difference between a Heirloom Session and a Child Mini?ļæ½Heirloom sessions focus on a classic white backdrop, timeless clothing, and simple posing, along with my signature vignette and black & white edits. Child Minis are regular portrait sessions and do not include these heirloom edits.
ā¢ What should my child wear?ļæ½I recommend true heirloom-style outfits for this type of session. They complement the classic look beautifully and help create portraits that feel timeless. If you need outfit ideas, Iām happy to send you my favorite stores for both in-person shopping and online options! š¤
ā¢ Do I have to purchase prints?ļæ½Prints are completely optional, but I highly recommend printing your heirloom portraits! These images are meant to become artwork in your home and can be passed down for generations. I provide a link to my recommended professional print lab after your session.
ā¢ Where do sessions take place?ļæ½In my private studio in Murfreesboro, TN, with a simple setup and props designed to keep the focus on your child.
ā¢ What do I receive?ļæ½A curated gallery of 30ā60 final images in color, black & white, and vignette-style edits.
