Hello all. I decided it is time for an update as fall approaches and lots of inquiries begin to roll in. I closed in late April because I had two big things going on in my life...one my mom was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer and given 6-12 months to live. She lived 5 weeks post diagnosis. My parents live in Texas so I was going and continue to go frequently to spend time with my dad as he adjusts to life without mom and to break up his stretches of lonely. May 1st my first grandchild was born. I am so thankful to have a huge happy in my life right now to help get me through such a big sad time. This post won't be super informative other than to say that I will be taking some appointments, but it will not look anything like it has for the past 10 years. It can't. I will continue to go to spend time with my dad frequently and I want to be available to spend plenty of time with my kids and grandkid when I am in town. That being said I know I have already spoken with several people letting them know that I would be happy to shoot their session. So far this is for senior clients that I have shot all their other kiddos senior pictures or for people that are close family friends for many years and their child is now a senior. School starts back this week for my kids and with that I will begin to form some type of routine again that will let me know just what I have the capacity to take on. I am open to branding clients as well that would be daytime/weekday shoots. I am truly scaling it WAY back. I will look more closely at my calendar this week and see what I can figure out for availability. That is not super helpful yet I know. I am replaceable in what I do. I know many many great photographers in the area and I am always happy to send you recommendations for your photography needs. It is really hard to let go of something that has been so fulfilling for a decade and more importantly all the relationships and friendships I have made through repeat clients over this last decade, but it is definitely time for me to slow it down a bit...not ready to pull the plug completely...but with out a doubt won't be able to serve my usual load this fall. I'll be working on available dates here soon and reaching out first to those I already promised a spot and then see what is left from there. I appreciate each person/family that has allowed me to capture their most loved people over the years.
