McKenzie Slough, east of Bismarck, is abundant with photo ops. Earlier today the light was variable as clouds were moving through, exposing various levels of sunlight.

Blossoms galore! This tree is in full bloom this morning. Right off the patio of my house, it offers this beautiful view with fragrant blossoms for a few short days, then shade from the summer sun for several months.

This is my third Mother's Day weekend in this house and I'm getting flowers! The snow crab in the back yard is starting to bloom. Interesting that there are blooms on the south side of the tree and buds on the north side.

One of my cameras and I haven't exactly been 'in sync' lately. Seems like I have had to work extra hard to get the shots I wanted, and not consistently. Ran a firmware update today (camera, not me HA), and literally stepped out my back door and shot this, handheld. Full moon coming!

So much action on the lek this morning... even before daylight broke. This field was a fun, very cold place to be early this morning. The sharptail grouse did not disappoint. We had the first rays of golden sun, then some clouds briefly took our light away. Overall a great morning!
