Ever wonder what happens to your wedding photos after I pack up my cameras and head home? 📸💍

The work definitely doesn’t stop when the wedding ends and before I even think about editing, my first priority is making sure your images are SAFE.

I take backing up wedding galleries very seriously because these aren’t images we can simply recreate if something happens.

During every wedding, I shoot with dual SD cards in both of my camera bodies. That means every single photo I take is being written to TWO cards at the same time. Depending on the length of the wedding and how much I photograph, I’ll usually come home with anywhere from 4–6 SD cards from one wedding.

Then the backup process begins. 👏🏻

Your wedding images are copied onto multiple external hard drives. I currently use four separate external drives three stay with me at home, while another is kept at my photography studio in a completely separate location.

On top of that, your images are also backed up to an online cloud source. ☁️

And those SD cards? They don’t immediately get wiped and thrown back into my camera for another session.

I do NOT format the original SD cards until your wedding gallery has been delivered and the required amount of time outlined in my contract has passed. Until then, those cards are another physical copy of your images.

Even after your gallery has been delivered, I typically keep the RAW files backed up on my external drives and cloud storage for around a year.

Is it a little excessive? Maybe. 😂

But weddings are one of those things you simply cannot redo.

The first look. Dad seeing his daughter in her dress. Grandma dancing at the reception. The vows. The hugs. The tears. The people who may not always be here.

Those files are more than just pictures to me. They’re someone’s memories, and protecting them is one of the biggest responsibilities I have as your photographer.

So while you’re waking up the morning after your wedding soaking in the fact that YOU’RE MARRIED… there’s a pretty good chance I’m surrounded by SD cards and hard drives making sure your memories are safe. 😂📸

If you remember these two from their engagement session, you might remember that Montana decided to give us ALL the weather that day. 😂 Stormy skies, rain, wind… the whole Montana experience.

But today? Montana absolutely SHOWED OFF for them. 🥹🏔️☀️

Their wedding day was seriously beautiful from beginning to end. Family and friends traveled in from all over the country to celebrate these two, and you could feel just how loved they are by every single person there. And can we talk about the FOOD?! The bride’s dad absolutely killed it. 👏🏻😂 Seriously, SO good!

After the crazy weather we had for their engagement photos, I think Montana owed these two a gorgeous day… and she definitely delivered. 🏔️✨

💍🤍 WEDDING DAY!! 🤍💍

I’m a little late getting this posted today, but I’m photographing a WEDDING right here in my hometown of Laurel, Montana! 🥹📸

There’s something extra special about getting to capture such a huge day so close to home. I am SO excited for these two beautiful people to finally tie the knot and celebrate the beginning of this next chapter together. 🤍

My cameras are ready, batteries are charged, and I’m ready for all the love, happy tears, laughter, and beautiful little moments today brings!

A little throwback to this gorgeous session in Red Lodge. 🏔️

She came all the way from Maine, if I remember correctly, to do a mentorship at the zoo! Before heading back home, she told me she just HAD to have photos taken somewhere in our beautiful state of Montana.

And let me tell you… Red Lodge SHOWED UP. 😍

The mountains, the scenery, the light everything came together so beautifully. I absolutely love getting to capture people while they’re visiting Montana and giving them a little piece of Big Sky Country to take home with them. 🤎📸

Definitely one of those sessions I needed to pull back out and share!

☀️ GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS!

Today I’m officially taking the day OFF. And honestly… it is much needed. 😂

Busy season has been absolutely CRAZY lately weddings, sessions, traveling, editing, delivering galleries, answering messages and trying to keep up with everything in between. I am SO incredibly grateful for every single client who continues to trust me with their memories and keeps this little business of mine so busy. 🥹📸

But today, I’m slowing down. Spending time with my family, getting some much-needed rest, and hopefully doing a whole lot of NOTHING for once. 😂

Messages and work can wait until tomorrow. Today is for my people, recharging my batteries, and enjoying a little break before jumping right back into the craziness.

I had the sweetest senior session at Flowerstead Farms in Billings tonight, and I seriously could not have asked for a more beautiful evening. Golden light, rows of sunflowers, gorgeous flowers everywhere, and the prettiest warm summer glow.

She absolutely ROCKED her session, and I already know narrowing down her gallery is going to be impossible. 😍

There is just something so special about senior sessions getting to capture this little piece of who they are right before they head into such a huge new chapter of life.
