Formerly from Plano, TX, Michael Schober left his IT career as a Microsoft Systems Engineer in 2016, and sold his house and everything he owned in order to live a dream of life on the road as a full-time RV'er. He has a 12 year old siberian husky, Summer, along for the ride and now calls Big Sky, Montana home. Michael bought his first telephoto lens in 2016 for his first trip to Yellowstone Nation
al Park and it changed his life forever. The surreal experience photographing his first wolf, bison and osprey, and the profound connection he had in those moments with Mother Nature, saved his life and led him to dedicating his life to sharing that connection with the rest of the world. After spending over 3 years traveling around the western United States as a full-time RV'er, he began workamping in our national parks, all the while pursuing his dream as a fine art nature photographer and connecting people to the beauty of this world through his art and life story. Michael spent the last 4 years living in the hottest place on Earth, Death Valley National Park, before deciding to uproot his life in 2025 and leave the RV life behind to go back to where it all started and tell stories of the greater Yellowstone area. He's now putting down roots with his partner in Big Sky, Montana. Mother Nature saved his life and led him to losing 100 pounds through hiking and nature photography. He hopes his openness with his mental health struggles and his path to overcome them will help somebody else that might be quietly hurting inside.
