Another great show by Express Yourself at the Boch Center! Always one of my favorite things to shoot. Lucky to have this organization on the North Shore using art to help youth with behavioral and mental health issues all around region for almost 30 years!

Jazz pianist Ellis Marsalis passed away last week from complications from Covid-19. I took this photo of Marsalis at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro in New Orleans in 2006 while working on a story about music along the Mississippi River. He played a weekly concert at the small club every week for three decades and had just recently retired. He was nice enough to stay after his show and let me interview him which was a pretty cool honor. Sorry for the poor quality photo (digital photography was still pretty weak still in 2006, especially in dark clubs.)

Last night was the Express Yourself 25th anniversary performance at the Wang Theater in Boston. Express Yourself helps at-risk young people through the arts where they gain confidence and learn methods of self expression. A great show as always.

Here are a few photos from NECC/Methuen Police Academy graduation on Friday. Graduates will be joining police departments all over the North Shore and Boston, some taking their oath immediately after the ceremony.

A few photos from the Express Yourself show at the Wang Theatre in Boston last Thursday. Included appearances by Blue Man, Stomp and Governor Deval Patrick. Express Yourself is a Beverly-based arts immersion program for young people. More than 150 youths performed.
