I’m talking about irregular bumps and scarring from liposuction, cases where the skin necrosed and died resulting in a huge hole and keloids, tummy tucks with high jagged wide scars, huge unnatural belly buttons with train tracking, patients with horrible breast scars and ni***es turning black and dying.
Most of the time complications happen from combining too many surgeries at a time or where it is done rushed or without proper care. Social media makes it seem like these surgeries are no big deal, but they require meticulous technical expertise and care to be done well.

1. Implants are not lifetime devices, it is recommended they be replaced at least every 10 years.

I just wanted to remind any of you out there who might be feeling overwhelmed or overworked, it’s ok. If you’re beating yourself up about something you didn’t do or something you wish you did better, it happens to all of us. Just take a pause.
We all need to take a few moments for ourselves.
Your mind and your spirit need to take a break - just like your body can’t keep running without getting exhausted, neither can your mind. So take a pause. Even if it’s just for a minute. This has helped me greatly in my life.
Instead of feeling bad or defeated, look ahead at all the opportunities to do it better next time. Pick yourself up and enjoy this day and look ahead with a smile and your head up. Have a wonderful and peaceful weekend - Dr. Cat
3 tips for young women interested in becoming a plastic surgeon, or looking to succeed in your own field:
1. My number one tip would be to believe in yourself and never give up. If you are truly passionate about plastic surgery, know that you can can do it. Even in moments of darkness, despair, through obstacles or perceived failures. If you keep going, keep trying, keep improving, and keep learning you can reach your goal.
2. My second tip would be that the road to becoming a plastic surgeon is long. So don’t forget along that journey to care for yourself and be kind to yourself. Too often our inner voice only points out what we haven’t done. Our mind has the tendency to notice only negativity in our life. This is even more prominent as a student. It’s easy to catastrophize everything and start grasping and worrying about things that never happen. In that process we lose the touch with the positivity and all the good things that are going on in our life. Have your inner voice be your best cheerleader and celebrate all the victories no matter how small. Also, your body is the temple for your mind and your soul so care for it. Exercise, eat healthy, and get as much sleep as possible.
3. And my final tip would be to be yourself and love yourself for who you are. You will constantly get opinions about how to act, how to dress, how to be and then another set of opinions telling you just the opposite. One thing that I noticed early in life, even before my medical career, was that people disapproved of my ways of doing things regardless if I followed my own ideas or social norms so I figured I might as well live the way that I found my life to be the most fulfilling. Therefore, my advice is to choose to be you, to never go into hiding, and to start focusing on positivity and love from those who support you. Focus on your strengths and celebrate your successes and what you have accomplished. I am cheering for you and sending you love and support.

How and when to start using Botox and facial fillers?
I believe that Botox and fillers should be done in a way that looks natural. Botox on younger patients is used to prevent the formation of deep wrinkles. Since it prevents the muscles from contracting and wrinkling the skin like a piece of paper that is folded over and over again, Botox helps prevent these deep creases from forming. I have personally used Botox for wrinkle prevention since my mid-20's. It can be placed in a way that still allows movement and doesn't look overly frozen or heavy. Fillers can be used to enhance the face. They should never be obvious and the first thing someone thinks when they see you should not be that you had fillers. They can be used to augment the lips or provide a better shape without looking overly stretched or duck-like. I tailor the treatment to each individual's anatomy and desired look.
Placing Botox and fillers requires the same meticulous attention to detail as any surgical procedure. Communication, understanding the look a patient is trying to achieve, and creating a custom plan based on each person's anatomy is extremely important. Because Botox and fillers seem to be everywhere - even in your local strip mall - many people take it for granted as easy or simple.

During Labiaplasty surgery, I use magnifying lenses that magnify about three and a half times because the sutures that I use are extremely delicate and small. It helps me see every little last detail down to the millimeter. As many of you know, my specialty is vaginal cosmetic surgery, which is usually a combination of labiaplasty with or without clitoral hood reduction. This procedure is very common. I perform several a week and the age of my patients ranges from teenagers to even older patients in their 60s. Many of my patients mention that their excess labia a patient to feel self-conscious, it rubbed against her underwear, she could see it in yoga pants, and overall it just got in the way. Also, toilet paper can sometimes get stuck in that area and many patients feel that they can’t keep themselves clean. Not only that, but it interferes with confidence when it came to intimacy. Some women just want the area to look nice. They want it to look nice, cute, tucked in, and feel confident in and out of clothes. The way that I perform my labiaplasty procedure is tailored toward the individual patient. I like to call it designer vagina because it is precise shaping and tailoring of the vaginal area to the patient's individual concerns and what they want to look like aesthetically. So the preoperative consultation and the pre-op visit and planning are very, very important. It's very important for me to understand what bothers the patient, what look they're trying to achieve. A Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is a cosmetic procedure that elevates the breast by removing excess skin, reshaping it, and contouring the surrounding tissues like a push up bra. Many women experience deflation of the breasts or a downward movement of the nipple and areola after pregnancy and breastfeeding or after weight loss. A breast lift helps restore the shape of the breasts after these changes. A breast lift does not change the breast volume.
