I was recently reminded of why I do what I do in the most beautiful way. A client pointed out how special photos I took of them were, how their family was captured just as they were and what those photos will mean to look back on.
When I chose to start my photography business my goal was to do life and build relationships with my clients. To bring every love story and family dynamic to life so that the photos are so much more than “postable” or “Christmas card worthy” but photos that you can hold onto in every season and look back on with joy.
I don’t say this to convince anyone to book with me. I say this in reflection and awe of how good God is, how He uses us in our calling even when we forget or don’t see it. How He prepares us in life to walk through moments, to aid in moments, to serve in moments, and yes to capture the moments. This isn’t about the number of sessions/weddings booked in a year, fast turn around times, or the money. It’s about God bringing the right clients at the right time for the season they are in in that moment. This isn’t a job it’s a calling that’s easy to lose sight of the “why” in a world filled with social media but I will forever pray God brings me back to these moments and reminds me to Be Still in Him so that I may walk as He is calling me to.
