Laura Frazier Photography Devoted to engaging in authentic story. The art and act of taking photos is an avenue I use to express the love I have for others and their stories.

It is important to me that I capture how beautiful you are, so you can see and hold forever the beautiful things about you and the people you love.

what I’d have loved to have known as a beginner photographer 13 years ago…

- if you focus on who and what you love, the rest works itself out… I’ve always been drawn to family photographs, mamas loving on their kids and the details within those sessions.

- it’s OK to not do everything. In fact, it’s better that way. I did exactly one wedding photo shoot, and it was a giant anxiety fest for me, there are people who love shooting weddings, and I love that for them!

- focus on building a sustainable schedule, burnout is a real issue in this industry…when times isn’t managed properly. Be realistic with your boundaries and set limits for yourself, especially in the busy season! If you are way too busy, then you need to raise your prices 🫶

- the photos really matter. It’s not vapid or vain to capture legacy.

This one is for the believers…A verse that I have anchored myself in for years is Galatians 6:9, when Paul says “do not grow weary in doing good.”

It’s a real temptation to grow weary, it’s even a natural response in our bodies if we are not engaging in real rest.
But as the verse goes on, Paul says, “for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Discouragement is a wildly effective tool of the enemy and it’s a natural way to feel when things don’t go as we hope. The more honest we are with ourselves about how we feel, the more likely we are to bring those emotions to God and the quicker we move through them instead of getting stuck.

If we are ministering inside of community, we should be spurring one another on. And reminding each other that this isn’t about us

- ministering to others is not about you -

brings a real shift and focus.

When we have the right perspective of God and the kingdom, shifting our eyes outward allows us to see a harvest.

Souls saved, lives and generations transformed.

Not growing weary, doesn’t mean that we never have the temptation to be discouraged. No, because ministry is FILLED with the both/and. Not growing weary simply means that we continue to submit and surrender to the Lord our own hearts. Allow him to refill us and to have a right perspective that there will be much rejoicing.

summer to me looks like:

getting photos to never forget how little they were.

playing outside and me snapping away so you can remember this summer forever.

realizing that getting your family photos taken can actually be fun (no, really).

Let the summer frolicking begin! Summer sessions are open and I’m booked in June but have a few spots left this summer. Also keep your eyes peeled for fall availability coming soon 👀

In January when we’re all focused on what’s next in the year ahead, dreaming, planning and hoping…it’s part of my rhythm to reflect to ask God for a word or verse to be anchored in for the year.

This year, the verse 1 Thessalonians 4:11 was what the Holy Spirit showed me undoubtedly time and time again. In part, it says:

“aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands”

Not exactly the most exciting or ambitious thing on the surface. And yet, despite the initial temptation to look to my left and right - this was the KINDEST gesture from the Lord. It felt like permission - instruction really - to be where my feet are.

The last five months have been spent pursuing more intimacy with the Lord, integrating grief, deepening friendships, very intentional time with family, becoming more rooted in mission and enjoying so much of quiet life.

My calendar is still full, my bandwidth changes day to day, but my anchor and baseline keep coming back to living a quiet life and every time that I remember that, I take a deep breath. What a joy to live in the upside down kingdom ❤️
