and then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like… fog is actually the BEST thing that could happen on your elopement day ☁️
A + A planned a sunrise elopement on Mt. Baker and all week the forecast was screaming rain. not just a little either… like a LOT of it
we woke up, drove up in the dark, and sure enough… pouring rain. we sat in the car for a bit just waiting it out, hoping for a tiny break before heading out
and somehow… we got one
the rain eased up but in its place came thick, moody fog
we hiked out anyway and WOW. it was unreal. no big mountain views, no golden sunrise lighting everything up… but what we got instead was soft, romantic, cinematic magic. the kind of atmosphere you literally cannot plan for
it felt quiet, intimate, like the whole mountain was just ours
after vows and wandering around in the mist, we headed down, warmed up, and grabbed the most cozy breakfast together to wrap it all up (you already know I’ve got the best food recs dialed for you)
here’s your reminder that mountain weather does whatever it wants and honestly… that’s part of the magic
if you can lean into it instead of fighting it, you might end up with something even better than you imagined
so yeah… fog is not a bad thing. it might just give you the most unforgettable day
