The Ghost of Motherhood.

Somewhere between who I was and who I’ve become, a version of me still lingers.

She doesn’t ask for her old life back.

She just stops by to make sure I’m okay.

And sometimes, she brings coffee.

Ever wonder what happens to your session after we part ways?

I get in my car, head home, and maybe you take the kids for a little treat for all those good smiles.

Meanwhile, I’m usually greeted by five sticky kids who have waited ever so patiently for my arrival.

I tell them, “Patience. I need to change out of my usually muddy clothes.”

Then I ask for patience once more while I upload your session to my computer.

Sometimes, that’s where it ends for the night.

On slower evenings, I get to play around with edits right away, sorting through images and picking my initial favorites.

Then I walk away.

A day or two later, I come back with fresh eyes. I revisit my edits, make adjustments, and carefully go through each image. Not just looking for the prettiest pictures, but paying attention to what each one makes me feel.

The way your little one reaches for your hand. The way your kids look at each other when they think nobody’s watching. The moments that might have seemed insignificant at the time.

I want your gallery to feel exactly how I saw it.

And sometimes, that takes longer than others.

Every session is its own creative process. One I don’t take lightly.

I’m not interested in rushing through galleries just to move on to the next. I want to give each family the time and attention their memories deserve.

Because what you receive isn’t just a collection of pretty pictures.

It’s a carefully curated gallery based on my perception of your family. The personalities, the connections, the chaos, the tenderness.

All the little things that make your family yours.

And maybe that’s my favorite part of photography. Getting to show you what your family looks like through someone else’s eyes.
