This April I had the privilege of qualifying for a media pass to attend the event at . April 9-12th, my local race track ran a number of different races, classes, and courses ranging from vintage classed race cars to Formula 4. In the events there was one name that consistently made it to the top, Beckham Jacir #7. , age 17, born in Miami, 3 time racing champion and 5 time vice champion, 1st in the USA and 3rd in the world on iRacing as part of the Williams Esports Team, was racing for .racing that weekend. He was equipped with a generation 1 Ligier F4 car competing against other Gen 1 AND Gen 2 cars in the same races. Despite the competition and the Gen 2 cars being faster (even after modifications to slow them down closer to Gen 1 performance) Beckham still fought for qualifying 2nd ahead of a Gen 2 and 10 other cars. Turning those qualifying results into two 1st place finishes and one 2nd place finish in his class! Getting 1st place in race #1 ahead of a Gen 2 car despite significant damage to his side pod, 1st place again in race #2 and 2nd place in race #3 after running on old tires. Supported by the team and his family that weekend, Beckham once again proved that he is a top tier driver.
You can see Beckham Jacir in the driverβs seat May 14th - 17th on the track in Elkhart Lake, WI. I would like to thank him and his father for talking to me about this impressive young driver, and the Ligier JFC series. Iβll be posting more photos of the other teams and drivers at that event soon, including some film pictures!
