FINALLY getting around to finishing this project. I shot this back in March, when Wuthering Heights was at the peak of its relevancy. Unfortunately, March is also peak wedding season here in Louisiana. My client work exploded and sadly personal projects took the backseat. I rushed through shooting this only to have it sit on my hard drive for months 😅. After A LOT of editing, and a little disappointment I didn’t get this out there sooner, I am proud to share with you my second Wuthering Heights portrait, top hat wearing crabs & all.

Also sharing some outtakes and behind the scenes stills of how it was made.

Best part about this set of photos is that I captured them while on vacation!
Beth hit me up the week before I was scheduled to leave for my family trip, and timing has never been more perfect. She asked me if I would be open to a beach session to promote her upcoming yoga retreat in Costa Rica. I knew it was last minute, but I let her know I was actually going to be there the following week and could she swing it. And swing it she did!!!!! We met the sun at 6:00am on the Gulf State Park beach and it was pure magic.

Live fast die young bad girls do it well.

I was so excited when saylesslis reached out to me about shooting a vintage sleepover inspired session at an incredible historic air bnb in New Orleans while she and her girls were in town for her bachelorette. The editorial goodness here was shot on a combo of 120 & 35mm film using my Mamiya645a and my contax g1.

Shot on CineStill Film cinestill800t & portra400

Everyone always says they want an emphasis on candid photography, but what they may not realize is that you should leave room for this in your timeline. I will forever be a big proponent for downtime on your wedding day because in my experience this is when all the best candid moments happen. When you have every single moment scheduled out, it can often be difficult for those really real moments to exist. Outside of adding more time, hiring a planning team and adding a second shooter are two additional ways to help ensure your timeline doesn’t become a step by step to do list.

Enjoy these post ceremony shots (many captured during downtime) from Alex & Chris’ New Orleans wedding.
